Added the rock tonight. this tank sure looks different than the other one which was one of my goals. I'm sure I'll do some changing around but for now I think there are lots of hiding places and caves. There is also room on both the front and back for the fish to swim around.

Actinic lighting (it never looks on camera how it really looks):

looking good, Micki- how cute w/the grandaughter and her rock. Our grandkids think it's "cool" to change a rock or some other substantial contribution! :)

Ok got some new friends tonight! First here is the tank with the trim around it:

This was a very fast set up. No worries about a cycle of any kind? You've not mentioned sumps or anything. It this tied into the main tank?

 Trim up already? You must not have been to that meeting..I think Marc chaired it and I know I have to wait another 6 months before I can put up mine. It's the law dammit!.

BTW, totally sweet fish selection. You sure popped a bunch in fast. They are all really cool. When I see the Picasso in a store, I always wonder how the hell that fish evolved to look like that!

Marc, It is tied into the main system. We are thinking about making a DIY skimmer to tie directly off the line from the 150 into the sump. The idea is the 150 would be "pre skimmed" then go into the sump and be skimmed again.

There shouldn't be a cycle of any kind. I used the same principle as I did when I set the 125 up (with your direction :) ).

jnarowe, thanks! I don't think Marc and I are related! LOL
I LOVE the picasso triggers! I can't believe I own one! :D

I finally got a good picture of the niger trigger. He was still sleeping thin moring. Ineed to work on the picasso now!

I got a few better pictures of the Picasso today. So far everyone has eaten and seems to be doing great.

"There shouldn't be a cycle of any kind. I used the same principle as I did when I set the 125 up (with your direction )."

Could you recap that for us? I'm about to set up a new tank, too.
Thanks.
Matt

When I first set this tank up I went from my 55 gallon to a 125 gallon. I did it all in one day with no problems. Page 3 of this thread shows exactly what/how I did it. I used as much of the old 55 water as I could and added new water to make up the difference. I added all the rock (rinsed it off in salt water first) then added the coral then the fish and inverts. I put a cup or so of old sand in 2 stockings and left it in the tank for 2 weeks to seed the tank.

This time the system is attached to the existing system. I added new water to the sump to fill the 150 and turned it on. It was basically like a big water change. I again added a cup or so of old sand in 2 stockings to seed this tank. I will remove them in 2 weeks.

wow, what is going on with this thread? I have gotten about 20 email prompts for one post that doesn't exist!
