Create a frame with 3/4" PVC and take a thin (1/8" or even less) acrylic piece (or 2 if one is too small for the tank size) and tie wrap it to the PVC frame. Drilling holes where the CL fittings are (drain, return, etc). Then using the method that Energy pioneered spray the frame/acrylic with the greatstuff then apply the resin/sand/shells. Personally I don't like doing anything permanent to our tank, if I can help it (ok, CL bulkhead holes are one thing...) but spraying the foam directly onto the back pane of the tank is another altogether. Not to mention the possibility of overspraying onto the side panes and also the smell as most of our larger tanks ar enot easily relocated outdoors during such activities. Building the frame, etc would help to eliminate those concerns. Of course alot depends on what you can get through the top openeing of the tank ....
