The 300 has begun

Well this weekend I started to work on setting up my 300 gal. I'm combining 2 55 gal acrylic tanks and cutting 4" of the back of one. Then gluing them together. I also started working on the stand. I went with wood because I know how to do it. Here's some pics.

They're not glued together yet. I ordered some 1" square tubing to strengthen the joint.

That definitely looks like it'll be kickass I'm very jealous of the huge tanks.

The stand isn't completed. I still have to finish framing the bottom and put the top on, paint it, and then skin it with some nice maple.

Lighting 3 250 watt MH 12K Reeflux with Lumenarc 3 reflectors power with Icecap ballasts
return pump is a Reeflow Barracuda with a Oceans Motions 4 way
Calcium reactor is DIY
Skimmer is DIY
Kalk reactor is DIY
Sump is DIY
DIY 20 gal top off tank with kent float valves
2 250 watt Jager heaters
and to control it all a Aquacontroller II

The stand framing completed and I'm going to start painting it tonight. I hate painting. After it's set up I'll put the skin on the stand. I'll post a pic of it tomorrow.

Yep, it goes back to my laundry room. That's where I'll have my RO unit. I pressure tested it and it's good. So the builder didn't mess with it.
