The after disaster 650 gallon build

I like the stand a lot. Did you build the previous one also?

Yes I built the other one as well,it was a little heavier duty.2" square tube and it was around 3/16" wall thickness you could park a Sherman tank on it and it would not have moved.
Thanks for all the compliments.

:D Glad to see someone who survived not only a tank disaster, but the wrath of the Mrs. as well....;)
Looking forward to seeing this progress.
Daniel.

I finally got the pumps in,kept missing the Fedex guy.It looks like a nice small pump, the only thing is it looks like it has a plastic impeller shaft, although I have not opened it up. I will have to see how it performs and in a few months maybe upgrade to a Red Dragon or Abyzz.I am interested to see the new Vertex pump that is supposed to be coming out soon.

Your new tank is looking awesome so far. I just picked up a 100 gallon sump last night at a good price for my new tank, so I should start making some progress on it soon. I just could not finalize my plans for building my sump myself. This will allow me to get the system set up and all the other equipment laid out for now. Late if I feel I need and room for a larger sump I have the acrylic already to build it.

Today I am feeling the aches and pains, keep forgetting I am not 21 anymore, who needs the gym when you have a reef and its equipment to look after.
I managed to make some headway this weekend, painted out the inside of the sump cabinet, got more paint on me than on the inside.Started to re pipe the sump plumbing...is there no end to buying fittings,I have boxes of them and spent a small fortune on others and still have to buy more, must have about $400-$500 in plumbing parts alone.Still waiting on the Oceans Motion contraption, should be arriving today.Once I have all the pipes roughed in then I can install them permanently.Hopefully will be done by the weekend, that's if work does not get in the way.

Is OM still around? I guess they must be

I commend you for diving in again. Sort of a World According to Garp moment. How heavy is the new tank empty. I've been noodling going bigger.

You got that right! My wife is like what do you do at Lowes every single day! I am returning fittings buying more fittings. I grabbed 8 of 1 fitting only to find out that 1 of them was the wrong size. I will probably post up something in the for sale section for the stuff I can't return.

I have large tubs full of fittings. What sizes are you in need of?
Thanks Steve I think I have all I need for right now, unless I deviate from my plan which could always happen.
Received the Oceans Motion now just have to get it installed and final glue up and then onto the next phase, having my wife design and build the rock work progress is being made.

That is too funny, that what I asked my wife to do. I feel she is much more artistic than me. She does have her work cut out for her. I told her I need a few caves and islands and she has a little over 1k lbs to work with :spin2:

Nice pump! It's rumored to be basically the same pump as the ecotech vectra pump.
