The Austrian Drop Off Tank

Tape measure, duck tape, power drill, and Tabasco sauce....

Not really sure I want to ask what you were doing, but it appears that you are prepared to get answer to some questions, whether or not they cooperate....

;)
Date night if its anything like my house:lolspin:

All kidding aside, your tank looks awesome Flo....

I showed our last exchange to my wife and all she saw was your beautiful tank.
Kerp up the good work.

The drop off tank concept is one I played around with, it's so cool to see the view! Nice coral pick ups!!

Thanks Matt!!!! :bounce3:

i can tell you a lot of thinking went into the planning of this tank and still i made some mistakes!

the new additions are from a Zeovit Tank, so lets wait and see how they progress.

Have to start AF soon!!!

Flo

Beautiful Flo!!!
Love the new pick ups as well. I love this tank, and you have some killer colors man! I like that you returned to t5, sweet setup :)

Man.... I HATE (love) when I find a thread like this!! (Thanks to Perry for getting you to post a link)
I should be working but instead I went through your whole AMAZING thread, Flo!
It was funny to see the sps slowly come into the picture on page 3 or so..
You certainly have the sps bug..
You photography is stunning and your coral health is fantastic.. I saw that downturn I. The acropora in February.. I guess you decided it was the LEDs doing it but for the first month or two, the acros continued to look absolutely amazing under the radions... Then something happened. I'm just curious what else in the system you might have changed sometime in January. Alk? Nutrient levels? Gfo usage?
Clearly the change back to t5/led has made a dramatic improvement on the acros but it seem odd to me that your acros were doing superbly under your first t5/led hybrid and continued to flourish under the radions.... And then boom.. Something went sour in the tank for acros.. I can't help wondering if something besides light contributed to the very sudden and dramatic change.
I'll be following from now on, flo. Your tank is fascinating!

Thanks Perry! I´m happy you found your way here, with a little help :D
maybe the thread should be moved into the SPS section ^^

wow thanks Matt!
Man i did the same with your thread, especially with your title^^
and you have been thorough!!
In January Ecotech postet the results of the Coral Lab tests and i decided to use one of there programs... that´s the moment when the corals startet to brown out... but just before i switched to T5s they got most of there color back, then the t5s made them brown again and that was a bit too much for my corals... i´m very sad i lost the Icefire... :(
but since then it´s back to color!!
but i have to admit that it would have worked with the radions but have you seen the picture with the shading? made me sick and i realized whats the bad thing about LEDs and their spectrum... something i should have done in November...
but now i´m happy with my new fixture!
and yes I've got the SPS bug :D :D

you guys and your tanks are amazing and thanks again for your kind words!!!

Flo

I've been reading (again) through the whole thread, but it's impossible!!!
Every time i face the pics i stay there forever looking at the marvels you've achieved, so forgive me if you already talked about the coral program/additives that you are using but can you tell what Ecothech/Aquaforest(?) product are you using/planing and the expected effect? I myself am planing to start using some additives but from I've read it's very difficult to choose or it's to much complex (€€€).

Your tank and specimens are stunning. Have you tried emerald crabs for the bubble algae? There's probably a fish, that I'm not knowledgeable, that'll take care of that kind of algae.
It's pretty invasive.
