The Best little plumbing shop!

Share your stories where you've found the most fittings you need for plumbing up your aquarium.

My new favorite is:
Ace Hardware in Dunedin - on 580 and Virginia. From 3/4" up to 1 1/2" fittings - I have found everything I've needed here. Bushings, adapters, and all of the other accoutrements are in good supply.

The bins sometimes are mis-matched - so be careful what your picking up.

The one thing they don't have - true union ball valves. But! you can find them right down the street at the Lowes Dunedin on 580 and 19 (it's behind the kMart)

Prices are fairly reasonable - but not competitive with online shops.

My second favorite is pvc fittings online - the only problem here is you'll need an order of at least $25 and you really need to know what you're going to need (by text and not by picture).

Agreed, Ace Hardware in Dunedin is THE place for plumbing. They offer a good diversity of quality, made in the U.S.A., Spears fittings. Not the cheapest but you're supporting a local small business/family.

Dang! I wish I would have known about the Dunedin Ace hardware before I spent over a $100 on plumbing at Lowes. Ohwell, Im sure there will be a next time. Do they sell sch80 plumbing and fitting?

I only ask because as Im not in a huge rush to get my tank setup (I want it running but not rushing it). I'd love to switch my plumbing from sch40 to sch80, just because I'm insane really.

Also on another note I like the tarpon true value/ace they have screws in there that home depot and Lowes don't carry .....stainless screws and all sorts of rubber and nylon washers ect....

Call rite flo supply in Dunedin. I think they sell to retail. We use them for whole sale. Just call them ahead of time with a list they can get u anything u need all in one place

I'm wrapping up a skimmer mod with most of the parts from Ace, the helpful place. I added a dome top for increased foam height and slopped skimmate runoff, rather than just bubbles poping on the lid and falling back into the neck. Also made a DIY neck cleaner and a fresh water sprinkler wash down in the hopes that I'll never have to remove that cup for cleaning again. ;)

I love the ACE on seminole blvd, only reason I never really go to them is because they close at 5 and I don't get off work until 6:30, and HD is open until 10.

Start a thread. Want to c it

I have always had really good luck with grainger when looking for hard to get peices. Try plumbing a tank with 1/2" sch80 with matching gate valves.

Man, I don't know how you guys like that Ace it seems like everything is just thrown onto the shelves. It's a mess. Have you tried hammerhead ace on East Bay? It's massive.

I actually drive by Hammerheads everyday. I swear someone told me it was a pawn shop, I never really paid much attention to it but I might have to check them out.
