Voted other.

IMO a CL run with a SCWD, and controlable by ball valves run under the rock preferably spray bars.

A wavemaker with some PH's in the system.

I really think that a wavebox is best because they give you alot of flow, and it is more natural.

After this I think it just depends on whether you want powerheads in the tank or not for the other methods.

2 koralia 4's on opposite ends with circular flow
2 koralia 3's with wavemaker mod on wavemaker alternating flow back and forth.

What type of flow is in your opinion best for the reef aquarium?
research gyre

there are many methods to acheive such a thing.

So you believe an over all swirling/cyclone motion is best?

yeah.
you can add other water motion(s) to it, but a gyre is the 'building block' water motion to strive for. I also favor reversing the motion of the gyre every now and then.

I think that in nature, the wave motion and randomness is important because there is a huge area that the food needs to be moved around in. In our tanks, I don't see where it's that important. Just having enough flow to keep food suspended in the water column is all you need. That can be accomplished with a CL. (I don't like having PH's in the tank). Personally, I think wavemakers are a waste of money.

I will vote for MC, not because I like it, but because the media has already decided for us. So I rage against the machine.
I think descretionary income for your reef will be hurting with their candidate.

I am going with the gyre, switching directions about every 15 mins.
