The big doser review by mr saltwater tank tv

You clearly don't understand the flexibility of the salve doser. :deadhorse:
I'll stop here to avoid anymore nonsense.

I understand the flexibility, what you describe I could do with a BRS doser and the profilux. YOU clearly don't get what I'm trying to do....
...:hammer:

My suggestions for the Slave,

Automated precise dosing

The ability to insert a number and have the profilux dose it across a 144 or more equal dosing.

Impossible as no doser can dose in less than 1ml increments so you could never get an even spread it would have to round up. Other than that the GHL kind of does this anyway with auto mode, you want 144 ml dosed a day right? how many doses split into?

Ok lets take an example based on GHL functionality in both slave and SA

144 over 12 doses = 12ml

Enter dose amount as 12 ML and amount of doses as 12 - Job done!

What i think you are asking is for GHL to do this simple maths conversion for you, I have to say this is a waste of time in software work as we ALL can do basic maths.

If you are wanting more than 24 inputs in the SA doser then this is a different question. The slave already can do more than 24 but 144+ is a bit much really for any situation.

Better Calibration mode

Make it set to dose 100ml, you then insert the amount it actually dosed.

It already does that.

I dose 5000ml of Kalk a day, should I dump 208ml a shot? Maybe if you have a smaller tank you don't run into these issues.....

In the standalone doser if I key in 140ml, are you telling me it would dose 144 ml? (12 X 12)?

you are dosing 5L of alk a day? Over a gallon of Alk a day???

If you want 140ml a day on a SA divide that by how many doses you want in a day for example 10 then you would type in 14ml 10 times a day = 140ml in a given day

"
It already does that. "

I don't see a calibration button on this screen? If you are referring to the idea that you can change it to manual, set up a new config, run it and then readjust your flow rate I was requesting something a little more...

Like a true calibration button, it preserves yours current configuration, runs, you key in the MLs dispensed, it updates your flow rate.

Again, you asked for suggestions, of course you can accomplish it other ways, in my opinion it's about making it easier on the end user.

Think of your car, automated windows, door locks, run flat tires, GPS, you don't need any of these things, other ways of doing existed.....

Yes, that is correct, more than a Gallon a day, my evaporation rate is twice that... I have more than 200 gallons of active water with hi flow....

Flow rate gives you precise calibration.

The whole enjoyment for me with the reef and the controller is tinkering, where is the fun if you have everything so plug and play you dont have to get out of bed. Is the world really becoming so spoon fed expectant now where we have to rely on others or other things to think for us ? :( I hope not.

wow....

Mike, don't ask for feature requests if your not receptive to them.

I'm not overly concerned with the lack of functionality, I am concerned with the responses and the 'tinkering' comment especially... Automation is being spoon fed? You have no idea what I balance every bloody day, don't begin to try and guess.

Essentially if someone requests functionality that doesn't exist then they are lazy?

Cmon lets bring this down a notch, the comment was in light hearted fun, and should be taken as such. Nobody is calling anyone lazy.

Both myself and GHL love user feedback to improve a product, and all points will be put across in fact they already have been, after that is just some Sunday morning debate nothing more. Just becuase i feel the product already covers all you need does not mean your own needs will not be considered.

I would like to leave it there ;)
