It says it is an Atman 2500 and also be careful. If that is coming from China then taxes will kill you getting through customs. the $179 is just shipped. I have heard stories where taxes and fees were $100. That is probably a rare case being that high but just know that may happen.

The ones that are on Ebay now are all shipped from NY. And I'm yet to see one smaller than the 160 with anything other than the Atman.

From what I've been reading, when they ship these from China they mark them somehow as to avoid your having to pay huge customs. I suppose they simply misrepresent the value.

I do want one of these pretty bad, but not bad enough to order one from China just yet.

Just cleaned the cup last night but skimmate is getting considerably darker
Heres a pic and a couple of the small system its running on.

I've been there. They actually have the NAC7 but they want $250 for it, which seems steep. Is that what everyone's been paying for it? That's a large jump in price from the 6 for seemingly not much more benefit.

At least the BM105 has the pump outside the body so it's easier to clean and such. And it's rated much higher than the NAC6 but for the same price.

Do you think the extra hundred is worth it for the cone? I suppose that's where the hundred goes.

And both of those at MarineSolutions has the Atman.

You could check the Nuocean site and see if they take pre-orders.

Says they're temporarily out of stock with an ETA of 1/28. I emailed them this morning to see if they're actually expecting that to happen and I don't have a buttload of hope for hearing back anytime soon. But I could be wrong.

Don't see anything about preorders. Gotta figure they're gonna get, what, a hundred of 'em? They could go fast.

Chris at Nuocean wrote me back and said that the shipment is clearing customs and that he doesn't have a definite arrival date. He also said that there will be NAC6s and 7s available. I'm definitely jumpin' on one of these, the only question is which one?

If you can afford the cone I would do that. It is not just the cone you are paying for. It is also has a larger pump. It has the ATMAN 3000 on it.

I remember Marine Solutions running a test to see if a cone was worth it. The cone was pulling out 2 times what a cylinder body was with the same pump. It is too bad they don't have their forum here anymore so I could post the link.

With that being said the cone may be a little big for your system but you could certainly upgrade later to a larger tank.

OK, I'm gonna try and get the cone if I can. I hope it's not gonna be $250, though. Like I asked before, can anyone else attest to what they paid for their NAC7? Reefshops (the place in China) wants only $170 for the 7. I understand that you might end up paying more like $250 after shipping and whatnot, but they want $130 for the 6. So what I'm wondering about is the disparity between the prices. Just a comparison, ya know?

So what I'm saying is I hope I don't have to pay $250 for a NAC7 from the U.S.

And as for the pump, MarineSolutions site says that the NAC7 comes with the Atman PH2500. Is NuOcean different?

I've only seen the BM160 and up with different pumps than the 2500.

Bubble Magus has MAP pricing. The cheapest you will find that skimmer here in the US is $250. The MAP pricing on that skimmer is like $265 or something.

So yes, if you get the cone you will be paying roughly $250.

PS - You are right, it uses the 2500. My bad

I really hate to go that high. I was originally planning on going about $200 for an Octopus. Remember, it's only for a 55 tank with a 30 sump. I guess the NAC6 will be more than enough.

And if I do upgrade tanks it'll probably just be to a drilled 75 or maybe a 90 at most.

Hi!

Now some pictures of my Nac6a. Seems like almost everybody is content with this skimmer!
It is the 3rd day after cleaning.
My system has about 30 Gallons of water.

My bioload is not bad.

I have:

2 Clownfish
3 very small Anthias squampinis
1 Nemateleotris decora
1 very small cubicus

I feed pretty much because of the Anthias.

I also modded the bubble plate a little bit, 2 weeks ago.
I made holes around it, so there is less preassure to the few hole above.

Since that its a bit easier to get dark skimmate in the small system.
But the best would be a new bubble plate. At the moment i am searching for cheep acryllic tubes. That is not that easy.

Michael we need pics right now of what you did! LOL

That sounds like a great idea. I am sitting here at work and was just thinking of taking the bubble plate off and seeing what happens over the next few days.

Did you notice any more micro bubbles after modding the bubble box?

The holes are not in the cover of the box, but in the round part. Do you understand what i mean? So far i made 8 holes with 4mm diameter.
The reaction chamber is filled out much better now.

Thank you for the link. But i need it in germany! :-)
I found some but they want 60€ for it. Thats to much!
What do you think would be the best diameter? There is 120mm or 133mm.
I am not sure how much space the water needs to go down at the sides.
