Just installed the BMQQ HOB and I gotta say, I was really excited to get it going but have been dissapointed so far. For one, the piping came loose so I had to fiddle it and cut some pieces and get them glued in. Just not something I expected to have to do with a brand new product. Second, the thing is pretty darn loud. I suspect Ill have to do some DIY mod to the air intake to silence it. Not the end of the world but both issues I dont expect to have to deal with on a new product. If it ends up skimming well, ill try and live with it but as it stands, that noise is annoying the heck out of me!

I'm suppose to pickup that BMQQ from bulldog(cmas),hmm,i hope the thing works.

Got my pump replaced cause I had the 220V instead of the 110v
Skimmer works like a champ.Totally silence and so far it has pulled some crap out even while breaking out.

bought the NAC6A and have it running in my tank. tank is recently setup (around a week) rocks are from an established system for 4 years and added 20 cubes of frozen food to jump start the cycle.

I'm looking at a nac7, but am concerned. It sounds like a few people are having pump issues. Also I plan on using this on a 120g, not heavily stocked.

what kind of problems are people having with the pump? I have the same pump in my NAC6A and its working like a champ. i cant compare it to other pumps like aquabee or eheim, but its working fine for me.

honestly i dont think it makes alot of difference...but the bubbles does seem to flow upward more smoothly...plus it looks cool...haha...
water level is 10"
the build quality is very good...but cant compare it to the top name skimmers...
but it was under $200..the top name brands cant touch the BM skimmers in that catergory...
it is very quiet...so far im very happy

under 200 dollars?!?!?! i see it for like 265 shipped. where you get it at?!?

i believe the atman is the same as the via aqua pumps...

Pretty much the same outside... I have a Via Aquarated for abou the same GPH and looks just the same from outside. Even the chrome label with the specs.
First problem:
Water inlet is not as big as the ATMAN so the venturi won't fit in the via aqua. A via aqua pump similar to the ATMAN has a 3/4" inlet, Atman has 1"

If you try to replace the paddles from the via aqua with the extra mesh the Bubble Magus brought it won't fit. Never tried with the whole impeller and rod though... At least, via aqua has a metal rod vs ceramic from Atman and Atman's is slightly bigger

I suppose Via Aqua runs a little hotter cause is a few more watts (40w) than the Atman (20W).

Thats all I can say about them. Hoe it helps

great info sammy....i guess we gonna have to stick with atman pumps for now...mine is working fine so far...there will always be a few bad apples in the batch...
