You dont need a expensive gate valve or a sliding tube. Put a reducer bushing in the end of the drain pipe. Then tap in a $4 cpvp waste stop valve from HD or Lowes. This will give you the fine adjust of a gate valve for under $5.

That type of fluctuating is typical of any beckett skimmer. They inject a lot of air.

You really need to see a beckett in operation to understand I guess. The air injection is constant. It is just they produce a larger foam head than most other skimmers due to the mass of air it injects.

i'M DRIVING IT WITH A MAK 4
AND ITS TOO POWERFULL
...MAYBE BECOUSE ITS PUMPING AT 2 1/2 FEET
IT GOT LOTS OF PRESSURE

I'm sure its fluctuating even more since its got so much flat surface area around the neck. It will fill that space (top of bucket) with air and the air will surge upward (burping). It'll still work....
