Iam gonna be putting in an order with my lfs for fish to completely stock my tank(s) although the introduction will take place over the next year it will be a large chunck of money upfront(paying for all fish upfront) be advised that there are certain fish that i will aquire thru specific online vendors because of "special" reasons if i decide to get that particular fish, also be advised this will be a controlled introduction over a period of 1 year or more within multiple tanks

avaliable tanks in my physical possesion

7ft 200g
6ft 210g
6ft 175g bow
4ft 75g
4ft 55g
3ft 30g
29g(multiple)

tell me which fish you would eliminate from the list and WHY, i know there is no way possible to even dream to have all of these fish unless i win the lottery and buy my own personal private shedd aquarium

MULTIPLE CHOICES FOR ELIMINATION ALLOWED

Pretty difficult to vote when we don't really know what the set-ups will be like. For instance, I would say to put the Moorish Idol in the largest tank you have, but only if you've got lots of LR in there... and the Queen Angel and/or some of the triggers you've listed are not in the same tank as the MI (since I've heard they can be pretty nasty).

I think it would be easier to vote if we were talking about one tank at a time with you giving us a description of how you envision the set-up.

Good luck.

well iam looking for votes against the based upon the fish its self not a specific tank for a specific fish with specific tank mates and based upon fowlr tanks

any special tank mates or special setups would be taken into consideration and applied for the fish i end up selecting out of this enoumous list of canidates. there are a certain fish that are actually on my cut list for one reason or another but i still wanted to see what he general opinion is i realize there are many varriables but iam basicly asking if your set up was approperate for a fish listed would yo have the fish in your tank, and you think my tank size is approperate for a each individal fish on is own merrit. dont confuse your selection by saying to your self this fish with this fish will work but not with this fish, treat each option listed as a single fish and say yes i would have it in my tank if i could or no i would not have it in m tank even if i could and state WHY..thanks

the reason i request an explanation for an eliminatetion vote is because i wold like reasoning as to why this fish is not a good choice because some one out there has information/experience with a specific fish that the next person dont and of course the common answers will also appear

I made my decisions based on size, care requirements and temperament.

thanks thats what iam looking for, even though you did not mention the specific reason for each fish i could figure out which reason(s) went with which fish based upon the limited knowledge i have from reading about specific fish over the years, mch of it being on reef central

Well that helps quite a bit, since this is in the "Reef Fishes" section, I wasn't sure if you were thinking of putting this into a tank with corals/inverts, but since this is a FOWLR set-up, I'll vote based on that type of set-up...

yeah my screw up i had my reef tank on my mind when i posted this but my reef has all the fish i want or like in it already..since its reef and only 75g it limits the fish selection greatly since iam not into the smaller fish..lol

I basically voted for the three "difficult" species to care for (Achilles Tang, MI, and Regal Angel)... mainly because if you'll be keeping multiple tanks at a time and, unless this is your full-time job, I would think that it would be pretty difficult to maintain all of your tanks and keep all three of these demanding fish. So I would say, out of the three, pick one if you're going to be running multiple tanks.

Good luck.

i retired us army so there is plenty of time for tank maint while kids are at school and wife is at work...but yes tank maint with difficult fish is a valid concern for sure

I voted against all butterflies, because I've not seen many privately kept tanks that succeed with them; moorish idol, same reason; and the rabbit, because they're apt to kill other fish. Puffers ime are nippy, though cute as bugs.

I voted agianst the MI for the same reasons as others. I also voted against the long horn cowfish basically because they can realease a toxin and crash your tank if they become stressed. Much safer in a specimen only tank if you want to set one up.
