The end-all of cleaning tools....

Sounds great wish I had known about this before hand. I spent at least an hour or more scrubbing my tank before the move to the new house with the magnet to try to get the really hard stubborn algae dots (not coralline) off my tank and still ended up having to resort to a razor blade before using the tank again to get rid of the algae.

Naw, I didn't invent the tool. Matter of fact, a dallas reefer from our club (DFWMAS) showed it to me and I looked around until I found one at Walgreens.

I told my wife about it and she went in the bathroom and hid her electric toothbrush from me, Sheeesh! I would have washed it when I was finished.

Why waste time washing it. Toothpaste would have done that on the next usage...:D

I will definitely have to try this out. I have been using razor blades for years (on my glass), which has lead to countless scratches. I have a 5g hex (acrylic) at work that is becoming covered with coralline because I have been afraid of scraping. May have found the answer. No one in my office understands what the 'pink stuff' is. May be able to get rid of it now so I can see the kids:)

Got mine today and it does wonders on the coralline and the hard to scrape green and brown algae on the front and sides of the tank. Mine's acrylic and it never scratched one bit even through the coralline algae.

Wow I just started growing the pink stuff on the glass walls and of course it mostly grows on the front of the tank. This will really work on the coraline algae?

Ok new use found...

Cleaning out that nasty brine shrimp hatchery (coke bottle type)
Done in no time!

Not to mention that scummed up rotifer culter tank...

Nice find!
Hope they last longer than the Black and Decker (suposedly waterproof) Scumbuster. That thing rocked, but wasnt waterproof enough.
Next we'll see these at the LFS for $35:D

I really was not impressed with it myself. It is just a "lazy reefer" tool. You still have to put your hand in the tank and move it around. It looks cool and works...but the ultimate tool???? Nah..I don't think so.

LOL "You still have to put your hand in the tank" :D Maybe you can invent a bracket to attach to a magfloat on the inside and control the scrubber with the magnet from the outside. Then you'd have the benefits of the scrubber with the convenience of a mag-float.

Just a quick follow-up. A few days ago, I pulled my power scrubber out of my bucket of reef tools, and opened it up. I found some water inside and one of the batteries looked a bit rusted at the contact (+) point.

I'd like to suggest that once you are done using it, open it up and let it air dry for 24 hours before putting it away for the next time.
