The Futurama Cast

Do you guys name your fish? If so, why did you pick it?

All of my fish are named after futurama cast. I am taking pics of all of them now so I'l lpost them up later today so you can see how they resemble their names.

porcupine puffer: the professor (when he sees me he always rushed to the top of the tank to greet me, jus tlike the professor always says "good news everyone"! plus he is all wrinkly looking like the professor too.

teardrop butterflyfish: leela (she has a single eyespot on here like leela)

picasso trigger: bender (he looks like he is always smoking because he picks at the rocks and spits it into the water colum creating a dust storm. plus he has this trigger peice that he flips up, jus tlike bender with his antennae.

panda puffer: Hermies (aka Jamaican Bacon). He looks like him kinda I guess. I dunno, this is pretty weak.

Now that I bought a pair of Yasha Gobies and a Trio of Orange Striped Gobies, I might have to move on to another show! We'll see.

We have a hermit named "Zoidberg", Merely cause he was the first to grab a shell that was nearly too big for him.

"Look at me, I'm Zoidberg! Homeowner!" hehe

my mom named my clowns..Bert and Ernie...don't as me why, I DO NOT call them this..haha

i have a coral beauty, i call coral (i spent hours thinking up that one, k not really)
i call the bigger of the two clowns, fish
the smaller clown, little one
i have a goby, i named...goby

haha, i never said i was creative

i personally do not name my fish, but once, a guest thought I had named my yellow fish "Tang"

My animals don't have any fixed names, they're just called whatever I feel like at the time. I guess they're quite confused!

I have 2 clowns both named nemo, a midas blenny named lenny, and a coral beauty that I usually call beauty. The clowns my daughter named both nemo, lenny because it rhymes with blenny, and beauty because she's a coral beauty.

FYI my girlfriend has named the tank inhabitants.

Paired clowns - Bonnie and Clyde
Mandarin Goby - Picasso
Pin cushin urchin - Spike
Emerald crab - Oscar
Cleaner shrimp - Lester

Although in hind sight considering that Futurama is the BEST show ever, we should have taken that naming route.

i named my freshwater oscars - john gotti and al capone

then i got my saltwater tank and named my clown columbus because he was exploring all over the tank

my finace named my other fish and some of the corals too... crazy things i cant even spell but they are def. very girly...

Dude!, Ok I'll catch some flack for this, but just remember the first two fish will be comming out within a month or so. When I started this tank, (about a year ago), I put in two fish that I always used to start a reef going through it's maturing period. These two fish ,a yellow tang (Frick) and his tank mate a purple psudocromis (Frack). Reasons for them are, Frick, to eat algea, most likely the best IMO, and Frack to eat worms. IMO, these fish work well together but I knew they would only be there for about a year. I already have two of the fish that will be taking their place living in my fuge, being Jerry, a springeri dottyback, and Hawk, a 3 spot hawkfish.

Seems like girlfriends are always trying to name my fish.
I always have to say hey, lets give em a week or two to see if they can hang, or that they aren't mean to other fish b4 getting all attached.
I think secretly I'm afraid if I name them it's like bad luck and scared they'll croak!
Futurama was great, I wish they kept that on!

I have several names for my male clown when I have my hands in the tank. None that I had better post though.

mandarin - psycho - because hes a psychedelic mandarin
golden sleeper goby - scarface - because hes got that blue strip on his face
pair of percs - romeo & juliet - no good reason. because they were a mated pair maybe?
kole tang - e.coli ... yeah, like the disease...it just kinda fit.
one turbo snail - sunshine - it had a yellow & orange shell
queen conch - queenie - she survived a hermit crab attach, is a queen conch, and now has my permission to rule the tank, even if i have to buy a new tank to keep her happy.
emerald crab - wizard. - long thought process here, ill spare you.

but i still have to say my freshwater fish had much more creative names. and as far as girlfriends getting to name the fish...it just what we do

My new black onyx perculas are called Jelly ( & ) Belly. And my purple tang is Crown Royal.

I wonder how that happened....

Ive got 2 black and white misbarred oscellaris clowns. They are the Insane Clown Posse: Shaggy 2 Dope & Violent Jay. I also have a bicolor Blenny named Donnie and a Royal Gramma named Walter. Those 2 names were inspired by the Big Lebowski becuase at first the gramma picked on everything and the blenny was real timid. Everyone gets along fine now.

My last tank was named after the characters from the life aquatic with steve zizzou, starring (steve) zizzou the yellow tang! Ned was my clownfish and the only fish to die in an overflow accident. We were afraid to name him ned because he died in the movie....
