The Hardiest Clam???

I'm new and learning about clams, is there such an animal? the hardiest clam, or are they all about the same, Thanking you in advance.

IMO hippopus then derasa and then squamosa are the hardiest clams. These clams can kept under VHO or PC lighting.

I'd have to agree. The hippopus and deresa's are generally hardier than the rest of the giant clams. Deresa's are more readily available than hippopus, but both are good clam 'starters'. Squamosa's aren't bad but start to get into some high lighting issues, and then you have the maxima's and croceas.
