Sk8r if you saw my sump you would probably go "OH MY GOD" that is nasty

Honestly I should have high nitrates and phosphates just looking at my sump. I only clean it out once every 6 months to a year, and I don't use filter socks.
I tried dosing sugar, vodka and vinegar and didn't get the kind of success that I got from NoPox and only doing the one 10 day treatment. I was skeptical of it and if it would really work.
Well after hearing everyone saying it's vodka and vinegar so you don't need to spend the money on NoPox. Well it doesn't have any odor of either Vodka or vinegar and it does work and I didn't get a cyano bloom after using it like I have in the past with other treatments of the more "accepted" Vinegar, Vodka and sugar.
I tested my nitrates and phosphates right before I started dosing NoPox and had 80+ nitrates and .04 phosphates. I took another reading on I believe day 4 or 5 and they were exactly the same as the test the day I started dosing. I didn't test again until the day after my 10th dose and I was shocked that both were hardly delectable with API kits. I even decided to check a very old API Nitrate kit that I have had probably 10 years and I knew it was not reading correctly but testing with that kit it showed <5 and the new kit showed 0.
I read an article and for the life of me can't find it now, but it was talking about how NoPox works. They said in the article that it helps feed, support and develop more of the bacteria that consumes nitrates and phosphates. So there was a thread going on here that was talking about getting rid of both nitrates and phosphates and I stated my success with NoPox and of course it was lets say not widely accepted and my comments were basically ignored. So while they still keep adding vinegar, vodka or sugar they still have issues with nitrates and phosphates and have been dosing for God knows how long but still believe in that protocol. Me, I got rid of my issue in 10 days and I'm glad that I got the product and tried it. I've got more than half a bottle left and I think my cost was $13 ish including shipping and I bought it from Ebay. So for $6 bucks or so my nitrates and phosphates are gone and have been for more than two weeks since my treatment. I plan on testing both every two weeks just to see if there is any change. I( do feed my fish and corals pretty heavy but have fat and healthy fish.
I'd like to add that my corals still look amazing even showing the low levels and my Chaeto is still growing in my sump which I run the lights 24/7 and also have some GHA growing in there which is kind of like having an algae scrubber. My pods, hermits, emerald crab are also doing very well in my sump even as dirty and nasty as it is. But with the success that I'm having I don't want to clean it in fear of creating other problems

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
