The Iwagumi Reef

Yano why are you using 110v pump version ? Being from Germany why didn´t you buy 220v version ? Do you run it with a 110/220v converter ?

Ooops, I had not noticed that fact .... must be a mistake in labeling because I do not use any converter.

Thanks for your comments....A few news photos:

Looking great yano! How has your flame angel been behaving? any nipping?

He´s a good citizen...several years with me without damages on corals, only I´ve less polyp extensión in branch montiporas and pocilloporas.

Great progress on the tank. I'm glad you are still posting as the years go.

What's your husbandry on your sand bed? What kind of critters do you use and any sand sifter? Basically, how are you keeping it so darn white! lol

I'm debating using fine sand in my new set up.

I don,t have any husbandry on sand bed, good water quality is the most important, although fine sand, good circulation and sand critters help. I´ve cerith snails (15-20), strombus (2), columbellas snails (many), a sand dollar and a black holoturia.

Wow super clean setup! How often do u have to scrape coralline off the glass and the back? As soon as it covers te rocks I wish it would stop growing lol!

I clean front and side glasses with magnet 1 o 2 times per week. This routine keeps them free of coralline algae.
The back glass clean it with blade each 2 months, when i see that coralline algae begin to cover it.
