The MJ MOd Party Sept 10th

It would work and it would be easier to mod since it has the slots and brackets. If anyone is still planning on buying a new magnet for there mount those would be ideal.

But the problem I forsee with these magnets is that the slots are for the sides of the PH not the back where the flow will be creating force. You can turn it on the sides, but that still gives a parallel flow to the side of the tank. Just my observation, but I do not have one in front of me so I don't know.

I see that too muccatree but my plan is to have the 3 that I make be pointing straight down and have the 3 regular maxijet 1200's in my tank on the wavemaker. I would also think that these could be modified to make them work the other way too. I am going to order one and bring it with to play with.

That sounds great. Looks like we wioll have a little bit of time to play as well as experiement since it will be a smaller crowd as we first expected

If we bent the original clip mount that came with the MJ then use that to attact between the mj and the magnet I still think it would work quite well.

Einstein if we had some acrylic we could bend you a few mount like we taked about for your tank. We could break out Nucca heat gun. Since we will have more time.

Covey I will see if I can get some acrylic for Sunday...

Nucca told me about somewhere that sells scraps pretty cheap

Bill, not sure which place you guys are talking about for plastic, but Midland Plastics on Tremont has good prices on scrap pieces of acrylic.

Thanks,

I think that is the place that he mentioned.

I'll have to google the address ...I don't remember where tremont is.

Couple blocks east of Brady on 53rd, go south on Tremont, they are in a suite on the left hand side just about 1/4 mile or so south. Tremont is the next stop light going east of Brady on 53rd if I am remembering correctly.

Midland Plastics

you are correct. All the scraps are on the right when you wallk in the front door. Don't forget to look in the barrels next to the door. True treasures to be had there.

I did read that...but the bracket is a seio one and I dont have any of those...casting the magnets is brilliant I think.

Have you guys seen this? It looks pretty easy!

This same link was mentioned in this thread:

I did a little research (see the last post) and it comes out at about 15 bucks each to make magnet sets using this method (assuming that you make several pairs).
