Sad to say but my MI started picking at my LPS so it had to go. I witnessed it picking at my favias, lobos and scoly's. I never witnessed him picking at SPS though. Thankfully he was easy to catch.

One of mine picks on select SPS. I can deal with that, it's just coral for me, and the fish are too amazing to let go

I recently had a pair of MIs in my tank that were gaining weight, along with an elongating streamer. They were awesome fish, eating anything that hit the water (Pellets, nori, Reef Caviar, LRS Reef frenzy <<---they went nuts over this) that recently died.

Come to find out that my Gyre was leaking stray voltage into the tank due to a crack in the power cord coming out of the motor.

Sorry to hear that. I swear these are the most sensitive fish in the ocean I nearly did mine in with an alk spike.

I recently added a second one to my tank, the original one gave him hell for about half hour and since then they swim with each other and I haven't seen them bicker since.
The second one I got came from an established tank from a friend of mine who had him for a little over a year so I had a good idea it was healthy. Hopefully I can continue to keep the thriving!!

that's ok there's plenty to go around. he's new but he eats brine flakes and algae sheets so hopefully he fills in. he won't touch blackworms figured he would.

I used a few bags of Sprung's purple seaweed to get mine from that same look to a fat little MI. One ate mysis right away, one waited for a month. Now they eat anything.

I am ordering one wholesale and would like to know if you guys think I could keep it in my 40 gallon sump tub for a week or so to let it settle in before putting it in the main tank? I dont have a qt set up so I thought it might be less stressful in the sump to start with.

Unless you have something in the display that you're sure is going to bother it, I'd add it right to display. That can give it more to graze on and feel more natural. And 40g is a bit small

I have 3 different tangs that I worry about, a purple, yellow and red sea sailfin. they are constantly chasing each other but I am thinking a different species will not be harassed as much.

I had a fair sized yellow when I first introduced mine, he went insane about it and pinned the two MIs in the corner all night. I had to remove him.

I'd put the tangs in the sump for a few days and let the Idol have the main tank. Idols are relatively defenseless and tangs are very mean and aggressive to newcomers. Plus, they are all of similar size and while idols are not tangs, they are more closely related to tangs than they are to any other fish.

bought some mussels from Walmart today and chopped them up into small pieces and my MI loved them.
