The most beautiful tang

I'm kinda surprised no one else likes the Desjardini Sailfin tang, I'd say its one of my top 3, along with the Achilles and Powder Blue.

What makes them cool is the pattern and the rarity of the fish. Is a purple tang really as striking, or black tang even better? Nah, but since they're harder to come by, the "grass is greener" theory may take off for some of us.

Haha, I also immediately remembered the fish below and was about to post the photo when I saw somebody else posted it before me.

So, this is not a hybrid, it is an aberrant (or mutant) color morph that I photographed in Christmas Island (Indian Ocean). I am still trying to find out what the reason behind the color is, but it seems to be some sort of malformation of scale placement...

Wow!!!! So it is real, LOL... I found this pic on google images and wasn't sure if some master photo shopper who had created this masterpiece, or if it was the work of mother nature.

I guess I am different because my all time favorite is a Powder Blue Tang. The classic color combo and shape draws my attention in any tank.

1. Clown Tang
2. Powder Blue Tang

Lol I have posted already and have changed my liking since.

1. Achilles
2. Blue Regal(quality and vibrant only lol)
3. Sohal and Naso are tied.

I really want a tank big enough to house all of these at once! Maybe trios of the Naso and Blue Regal, not sure how Achilles and Sohals are towards each other.

I recently made some changes in my Tang collection, due to being afraid of aggression among them.

Powder Blue to Achilles
Purple to a 2" Black Tang

Love them especially the tiny Black Tang, adorable..

I just LOVE tangs! I have the following in my 500 gallon...Black Tang, Achilles Tang, Orange Shoulder Tang, Chevron Tang, Hawaiian Naso Tang with streamers, Maculiceps and the Fowleri Tang.

My top 3 would be...

AUSTRALIAN Dussumieri (not the Hawaiian version)
Achilles Tang
Orange Shoulder-Adult (the most under rated tang imo)

+1, would change the order

and purhaps the yellow belly hippo tang.

Close tie for me between the Red Sea Sailfin and the Moorish Idol (if it counts, it should ). The red sea sailfin can have really dark or lighter stripes, the ones with light colored stripes are the best and are just gorgeous. I thought when I got into this I would love all the bold colored fish, and have a really colorful tank but I find that some of the patterns and shapes of the simpler colored fish are the most striking.

whats the diff between the hawaiin and australian dusumieri? Do you know where i could find one? I am adding one tang to my system and I cant decide between dussumieri, fowleri or bariene... thanks

I really like my NEW Hawaiian Naso Tang that I have.... so my TOP 3 would be 1-Hawaiian Naso 2- Powder Blue 3-Tomini.. I have all 3 of these in my tank along with a Pacific Sailfin tang and LOVE them all... such cool fish to watch!
