The new b.s. thread

I just bought my sons airsoft pistols and told them squirrels on the bird feeders were fair game.

I remember those days.

Randizzle- I sure did, just never stressed it like I did the I want a tank thing. I asked a few times, then just dropped it after I set it up myself.

Jane,
When I was in my early teens my parents had a exclusive with Snoopy jewelry for all EAA Fly-ins west of the Mississippi River. We had a 182, then my Dad traded it for a Bellanca Super Viking. Now that thing would cruse!
But you are right about keeping in a hobby that keeps emptying your wallet!

wow they had planes back then. wasn't the wheel just coming round then..j/k.. i still envy your days in Hawaii

Living on the North Shore was just incredible, sometimes I really miss it, and other times I just have to pinch myself to realize that I actually was able to live there. Heck of a way to serve your country.

Gary, OMG, a friend of mine has every piece of Snoopy jewlery ever made, I think. And most of it bought at air shows, could have been your best customer. I've never made it to Oshkosh, but have had more fun at SunNFun in Fl. than a person should be allowed! Fortunatly, there is no photographic evidence of this, and the police dropped all charges..............

Dad wouldn't let me go to Oshkosh either, he wanted to haul Snoopy Jewelery instead of me, you know that useful weight stuff!
As a kid all that I ever wanted to do was fly. As an adult it has to be one of the most expensive hobbies there is, maybe auto racing (another one of my addictions) is second.
My favorite plane, the magnificent Curtis Robin. What an elegant aircraft it is. I wonder how many of them are still in flyable condition.
Dave, I bet Jane is still a great party, we just get better with age, and we finally figure out when enough is enough!

oh i dont doubt it..she looks like one you got to keep a eye on.lol.. my grandmother blew my mind a few years back. she told me how she drinks with her friends and then goes out and eat breakfast. i was yeah i bet that was fun back then.. she said yup back then was a few weeks ago. i did not know what to say

My parents fly to Oshkosh every year, but I'm not a fan. Ever since my dad did a bank turn on a doorless Taylorcraft with just a normal lap belt with no reduncies, and where looking to my right was straight down like 3k feet, I decided that the whole 'private pilot in antiquated airplanes' thing wasn't for me. Rock climbing is way safer than going 150mph in a tin can thousands of feet in the air!

Hown about flying in a Jenny at the amizing speed of 35mph, and doing a loop.

Seat belt?

What for???

The seat was so far up my --- that there was no way that I could fall out...

I know how you guys feel with wanting to get rid of the tank. I still enjoy mine but working 60 to 100 hour weeks at the hospital and studying for boards on top of that it gets to be a little much. Luckily it seems to do OK when I just leave it alone for the most part.

I'm jealous of those that actually know how to fly. I got to take a ride in this a couple of years ago:

The view from my seat in the nose cone for most of the trip:

Chris- I think your tank will be fine if you just forgot about it for 5 months. It is just amazing.

Nice view. Do it again as a graduation gift.

Thanks Paul:)
Unfortunately I just checked on it and the skimmer cup was full and the topoff tank was almost empty

I'll be around Sunday if you want to trade those frags:)

Doing loops with out seat belts make it so much more fun, it's the extended flight upsidedown in a Stearman w/o one that actually fits that's a bit unnerving.

Chris, that had to be one of the best rides ever. I've had a short hop in a B17 after working out in the sweltering FL heat all day selling tickets and T-shirts for the EAA, so I didn't fully get to enjot it. I passed up a chance to go in a P17 Mustang and have regreted it so much.

How does around 1:30 or so sound Paul?

Jane,
It was a lot of fun. My favorite planes are the WWII piston engine aircraft, especially the fighters. A ride in a P51 would be a blast:)

I watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown the other night with the kids and Snoopy reminded me of the WWI aircraft......those are some pretty cool planes as well.
