well, sence the accident, I decided to change from a ac 70 fuge to a full sump...well a 10 gallon sump lol The good guy who made the sump and over flow for me broke the 20L and changed it for a 30 gal. I am still tring to figure it all out....lol but I wanna post pics and show everyone my huge tank lol can some one pm me directions on posting pics.....thanks and what fish do you all think I should get? thanks

well, dont have water in it yet, no lfs have any mag 7's in right now.... so I wanted to figure out how to post first, but by the weekend I should have regular water through it to see if it leaks lol I like it alot tho thanks!

Look into the mag 5 for a tank that size. I think people also use the oceanrunners, which are affordable. But double check about that oceanrunner pump.

Skip the Mag...it a horrible pump but an excellent heater.

Mag 5 should fit fine and it should be plenty for a return pump on a 30g. Mag 7 would be to much in my opinion 10-15X turnover on a return pump is plenty. Use a closed loop or powerheads for more flow if needed,that way water isnt just blasting through your sump with a 700+gph pump.

Shoe,

get a mag 7. You are going up 4ft then you are dividing your output in to 4 directions. Trust me on this one. You can never have too much flow and with this setup you will not need any powerheads.

If you want to go all out get yourself 4 of those rotating deflectors that way you will have no dead spots and no "too high" flow spots...

I just did the head los calc thing here on RC and you will get about 450 gal of actual flow. A mag 9 would have been a even better choice.

Or an Eheim 1260 and you will get more flow and won't be heating the water up as much.
