I think it is about time we get a thread started to help "Pay-It-Forward". The methodology of pay-it-forward is to do a good deed for another person without the intent of pay back. Northern Valley Reefers highly praises this type of living and wish that many of our members feel the same. Personally when I started in this hobby, a lot of my first beginning corals were from members that donated or paid it forward towards me.
Since then, I have donated my time in becoming president towards this awesome group as well as donated a ton of corals to other members. I also believe highly in the pay-it-forward way of NVR. With that, I would like to reserve this thread to those who would like to pay-it-forward to the next person.
This thread can be anything reef related eg; hardware, fish, coral, misc... I kindly ask that this thread does not become a "Want to Buy" (WTB) thread. Reef Central has very strict rules for newer members in FS/FT/WTB postings. Please respect Reef Central and their outlined rules.
The way this thread can work is a person posts their pay-it-forward item and and another person can post if he/she would want it. The original poster can then post "gone", "taken". "paid it forward" etc, etc...once the item is gone.
I would also ask to pay-it-forward to those within the club regional boundaries, and even more so to members that have "contributed" to the club or will make it their best interest to help the club grow in the future. No one likes handing out things to people that take for granted what they kindly donated or handed down.
So please, if you do accept a pay-it-forward item, please be grateful for what you received and at the minimum please share the NVR attitude in paying-it forward! Happy reefing and see you all soon! :dance:
