The Official ESL Thread - Directive for Continuous Improvement

I would like to see the app set the Master/Slave relationships and be able to specify location in the tank to optimize the EcoSmart modes.

You set the "slave" relationship in the IOS App. You can assign it as a "slave" to another pump for a 24 hour schedule, you choose Sync or Anti-Sync based on location of the pumps.

Yeah, you basically set your schedule on the pump you want to be the "master"

Then on the schedule for the pump you want to be the slave, just set it as a 24 hour sync or anti-sync to YOUR "master"

It wasn't obvious to me right out of the gate either. But once you drill down and look at some of the options within the scheduling, you'll likely see all the options you'd expect.

Was very hard for me to believe that EcoTech would just leave that feature out... and of course they did NOT. It's definitely there.

Glad to follow and learn from your experiences. I'm hoping to try out the new Iphone app with Vortech and Radions tonight.

I got the sync / anti sync to work. Pretty easy actually after I had some time to play with it and figure it out.

ESL Beta Release

ESL Beta Release

We have just released an update to our production EcoSmart Live Beta server that should significantly improve ReefLink connectivity. To take advantage of the connectivity improvements, please make sure you are marked as a beta user in Settings > Manage Account > Participate in Beta Releases. Please note that if your ReefLink was disconnected prior to the release, you may need to power cycle it one more time to get on the new connectivity path.

Other notable features on the beta server include:
  • Updated the Radion Settings tab to save settings one at a time (as opposed to all at once). This allows users to tweak Radion aquarium level settings as necessary without having to wait for all settings and/or inadvertently resetting the acclimation cycle. This is also consistent with the ESL mobile apps.
  • Added an icon to the Device Manager to show which light is connected via USB (for Connection Manager users)
  • Added a new reminder to program an aquarium when scheduling changes are made
  • Added additional details to certain VorTech modes on the Schedule tab of VorTech integration. Additional details are currently available for Short Pulse, Long Pulse, Reefcrest, Lagoon, Nutrient Transport and Tidal Swell.
  • Improved offline schedule editing

That's great news - how can we tell if our reeflink is updated to the most current release? Mine is showing it was last updated today at 11:30 PM (it's 6:30 PM when I'm writing this). Is the time set at your end or is it getting that time locally?

It shows I am on OS 1.7.47 - is that current?

Yes, 1.7.47 is the lastest ReefLink version.

It was a backend change that doesn't require a ReefLink firmware update. You simply have to login and hopefully experience improved and more reliable connectivity. You must also have the Participate in Beta Releases option checked in Settings > Manage Account. If your ReefLink is disconnected the first time you login as a beta user, please power cycle it one last time to get it connected to the new connectivity path.

We have just released an update to EcoSmart Live that should significantly improve ReefLink connectivity. To take advantage of the connectivity improvements, simply log into EcoSmart Live. Please note that if your ReefLink was disconnected prior to the release, you may need to power cycle it one more time to get on the new connectivity path.

Also, if you don't have a ReefLink and use the Connection Manager with EcoSmart Live, you must update to 1.08.002. In fact, EcoSmart Live will not allow previous Connection Managers, e.g. 1.07.011 and older, to connect without an update.

Other notable features include:
  • Updated the Radion Settings tab to save settings one at a time (as opposed to all at once). This allows users to tweak Radion aquarium level settings as necessary without having to wait for all settings and/or inadvertently resetting the acclimation cycle. • Added additional details to certain VorTech modes on the Schedule tab of VorTech integration. Additional details are currently available for Short Pulse, Long Pulse, Reefcrest, Lagoon, Nutrient Transport and Tidal Swell.
  • Improved offline schedule editing
  • Improved Live Demo and Color Selection tab layout for Radions
  • Added a prompt when attempting to delete a Radion or VorTech schedule data point
  • Added a subtle highlight to selected Radion data points
  • Various defect fixes and performance improvements

To setup a ReefLink you need to use the ReefLink Setup application on either Windows or Mac OS X computer. You will need to start by downloading the setup from your computer, then install the setup app and follow the on-screen instructions. Once the ReefLink is setup you won't need a computer and can use our iPhone app to setup and control your profile.

Are you using a ReefLink or Connection Manager with EcoSmart Live? The iPhone and Android apps are only compatible with a ReefLink.

I'm having a similar problem. I can't even load the iPhone app without it immediately crashing. Is there an update in the works?
