Well, the tank is rebuilt, sump is up & running, lights, camera.... heaters, fuge, 2 Vortech 40's, osmolater etc.....Just waiting for the Skimmer....I put my old Tunze Skimmer (9005) in til the Elos NS1000 gets here....
My plan is to order "The Package" soooo....My old rock that I cooked for 1 1/2 mo still should have bacteria on it since it was never out of salt water....So I put it in my tank with 20# Oolic sand (Live w/bacteria) & there has not been a cycle......It has been in for 2 weeks with a dying anemone that just bit the dust today....Just tested...O amonia, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates....When the rock from TBS shows up I'll take out my old rock & replace W/TBS rock & sand...
I figure that may be another week or 2 so I should have built some good bacteria #s by then...Sound Good????

Your plan doesn't make a lot of sense to me. When you remove all the existing rock and substrate you'll be removing most all the beneficial bacteria along with it and basically starting from scratch again. You will however have whatever bacteria has built up in your skimmer and filters and elsewhere but I don't see a huge advantage, as when you start fresh with TBS you should not experience a hard or prolonged cycle anyway if done correctly. In other words it just seems like a lot of unnecessary work.

You are right but like you said, at least there will be bacteria on the glass, skimmer, sump & equipment....I figured it should help even a little bit....(can you tell I'm anxious to have life again in my tank???)
