After dealing with my Coralife Super Skimmer for the past year, with the purchase of my new tank/sump I also ordered a Reef Octopus Extreme 200 skimmer. MAN, this thing in ONE DAY has pulled out what was a weeks worth of skimmate versus the CSS. Amazing and worth every penny! Just wanted to share.

Oh yes a good skimmer makes life easier. super skimmers aren't bad though considering their price. The skimmer will slow down once it gets the water cleaned up some. It will kind of surprise you cause it will skim a butt load for a few days then just stop lol. Well inless you have a very High bioload. Even with that though it will still slow down from when you first added it.

yeah, the superskimmer 65 sucks. but the 125 and the 220 are actually pretty good i think. but as with really any skimmer. once the chamber begins to cover with gunk it will slow down and even stop. so it must be cleaned regularly for maximum efficiency.

yeah keep us updated...i have the CSS 125 modifed the needle wheel with mesh and it works ok ...but i have recently taken it out because i wasnt cleaning it often like i was suppose to...and now i want a better one
