The puking pagoda

Sooo... Maybe you guys know what happened here. Whenever I touch or move the pagoda cup it releases a clear/white slime as a ****ed off don't touch me response. Okay, big deal.

But today it puked brown muck. Literally.

It opened up it's many mouths and puked brown. Systematically each one. When I first saw it I was like oh no! It's dying! It had been doing so well!

And then the mouths closed up and opened the polyps like normal. All in all it took maybe an hour or two?

What do you think? Did something (yellow clown goby?) **** it off so bad it threw up? Or is this a normal cleansing thing?

Back to normal:

I did do a water change yesterday. Maybe that upset it? Or maybe just normal waste disposal? I'm not sure. Seems fine now. In fact I haven't seem it this open and happy in 2 or 3 days. It's even more open now than the last photo.

None of the other corals seem remotely bothered.

Thoughts?

I am usually happier afterwards too. The fact that it is looking good now makes me think it was a normal biological function which takes place after consuming food. I just picked up a purple cup a few weeks ago. I will have to watch for similar action.

Well every organism has to expel waste somehow, right? I think it is its way of pooing. Except through its mouth... Thus puking. I would love to know if anyone else has seen this happen?

Let me know if you catch yours doing it Crush. Mine did it in the middle of the day when lights were peak, so apparently it doesn't need to be the middle of the night. Maybe other corals do this too?
