The Reef Room...

So my wife has officially let me have the den as my Reef Room!
It already houses my 70 gallon cube which has been up a little over a year. It will now also house a couple growout/frag tanks. I cant seem to stop buying, trading, and selling coral. Figured i might as well turn it into something.

Ill start with a couple pics of my 70 gal. This tank will be plumbed into 2 of the frag tanks. The tank is still young, but its starting to slowly fill out. Very simple tank. Lots of light, lots of flow, lots of fish, and lots of food. I run a pretty big skimmer and fuge.

Here is where im at with the frag system. I actually just got the first tank running 3 days ago. Working on the stand for the next one now.

Started collecting equipment.

Last week i started building the stand, and getting things together.

This was my first real stab at wood working. The whole thing is select pine. Everything was put together with pocket holes, hidden screws, ect. I wanted something simple and modern to match my house, i also wanted it to leave the sexy equipment exposed!

Bought the flood trays.

Then this weekend was plumbing and setup!
I went with a weathered grey stain to match the room. White inside.

Wow. Loving your old setup and the new system too. Subscribed. :)

Love the new setup, looking good.

Wow just amazing.

Thanks everyone! Now its time to start building the other stand.

Awesome !! I will be down soon and help you fill it up buddy.

Thanks Chris! Look forward to it buddy. I might have to make the trip to tally. Gotta get some pictures of that awesome tank of yours.

Good job on the stand! Looks great! What's that tray made out of? I know some plastics can leech when heated (by lights in your case).

Beautiful corals and nice choice of fish. Following along...
Thank you!

Nice!!! I look forward to watching the system expand.
Looks great so far.
Thanks! Tank #2 is next week.

It is ABS plastic. Alot of wholesalers, and aquaculture setups use these trays. From what I've heard, the black trays are better. Ill def let you know if i see any problems, but i don't expect any.

Very nice and clean build! Following!!!
Thank you!

This is awesome! You have some talent, and everything looks really well thought out! Do you have any pics of your sump on the 70 gal? Not much LR in the DT... would love to see what other filtration you have.

The 70 gallon is now plumbed into 2 of the frag tanks. Before that it did have matrix media and extra liverock in the refugium. The first section of the new sump now holds liverock, and lots of macros. Here is a old picture of the 70 gallon sump right after setup.

Snapped a couple pictures today. Things are coloring nicely in the new propagation tanks. So far very happy with everything.
