the RO/DI is ON - let's fill this badboy!!!

nice. first sps! i was considering something myself for that nano since i've got nearly 10w per gal on that bad boy :D

ps. still jealous of your tank

Steve - The SPS looks great on it's good side, and not-as-great on its other side (how I got it). I see polyp extension on its "good" side. I think the SPS need good flow - so take that in consideration in your nano. I read somewhere that you need at least 10x your tank's liquid volume of flow per hour... but that may be pure poppycock, rubbish, nonsense, or whatever PC term you choose to use in place of BS :)
Anyway, my tank has about 20x its volume per hour for flow and this fella's in prime lighting area, so I'll keep my fingers crossed :)
Don't be too jealous of the tank - it is still a work in progress. It has become quite a money pit. I'm just glad I had the lights BEFORE I got the tank. I'm even trying to use less electricity - my SEIOS are only 22w where my RIO was 55W! :smokin: When you look at flow, I was a fool NOT to have bought these earlier! At 55w Rio pushed out 800gph... The SEIOs TOGETHER are 44W and move 2200 gph!
I just hope that SEIO puts its controller on shelves soon. There's only one person who posts here on RC that has their hands on one.

downset - 10,000 days? yeah - it IS nice to say the least! I think Tool is one of the best bands performing - although I missed their concert in KC last friday - it was my daughter's 2nd birthday... I don't think skipping your kid's b-day for a Tool concert is excusable :) if only she'd been a day sooner or later...

"More cowbell!" Christopher Walken cracks me up!

so i had problems taking a pic of the sps since it was towards the back of the tank - it's close enough to the surface, though, for me to take the is cool over-the-tank shot of it...

Please please, Freeman - I've found that the new thing to do if you wanna pitch neat looking corals, you have to come up with a name FAAAR more creative than the traditional COLOR+SPECIES like "turquoise zoos"...
Let's call them Steve Hess Limited Edition Radioactive UFO Warp-Drive Fuel Cells!!!
ANYWAY - I DO have a chunk of rubble that I set NEXT to the ones pictured above, it has about 12 polyps on it.... how's about $260 sound?
I KID! I KID! Dude, you GAVE me six to start this colony - so you can have the small rock I mentioned - esp if you bring me a cool trade... you mentioned PPE zoos - are those the Purple Plain'ol Everyday zoos - or the Purple People Eaters? :smokin:
Lemme know when your 40g is up, runnin', rockin', and ready to go!

well i have some rpe thats red people eaters

I know the pics are terrible, but I'll eventually bust out the tripod and put the camera on macro setting, etc and post some super cool pics - I just wanted to show how big some of the softies are getting in ol' soupy's tank!

man looks good steve i can't wait till mine is done

i just ordered the parts to upgrade my computer tonight
so i might be seeing you in wow pretty soon

keep the pics coming
hope the cyano clears up i had a problem with it once i just used actinic light for a few days and never saw it again
i believe i left the actinic on the whole time as i noticed it would disappear at night

Thanks for the compliments, Freeman!

Now that I've had my RO/DI checked out, I can feel comfortable with doing a few BIG water changes - that should help. I really need to get the sump going though - I think THAT is the best/quickest/cheapest way to help get the cyano under control.
Let me know if/when you get a WoW account - I can invite you to my guild on the Kul Tiras server (alliance side).

And with that geeky comment, I'm out!
