The sound of a breaking aquarium

Does anyone know of a retail store that might have a RR 180 glass tank in stock?

I know rainbow pets in Arleta has 180 tanks for around 320 or something like that. I know cuz I was just there last saturday. I have the price list at home I can pm you the exact $ tonight if you like.

The only thing is it's not RR. Given your current situation, I don't think that is something you would be to worried about.

whoa that sucks! glad you heard it happen and were able to nip it in the bud.

is it just me or does the acrylic look a bit on the thin side for a 180g? additionally, the seams should not fail on an acrylic tank cause if done correctly, the acrylic literally fuses together. *bah! nicole beat me to it*

as the OP stated, the tank is over 10 yrs old.

Good luck with everything man. I wish i could help but im way down south in south OC.

I tried asking around to see if I could get a tank from here. It doesnt look like I can arrange something in such short notice.
I'm going to see if I still can, though.

age shouldn't matter with acrylic tanks as the seams are fused together (the onlyage related issue is slight yellowing and/or hazing). its all basically one piece of acrylic if built correctly. my parents have a 100g at their home that is 20+yrs old and its still going strong.

Man, Gotta love this, people coming together to help a local reefer out. I know Bill thanks each and every one of you for helping, he's just a little busy right now. ;)

Wow...sorry to hear. You could also set up a kiddie pool as a holding bin for your corals. I'm sure those a easy to find now that summer is near.

I agree, the seam should not have failed if properly welded. I noticed that the support for your canopy in the first picture was pressing down on the seam. They may have made a bad situation worse. Good luck...

cayecalker,

I have a LeeMar glass reef tank, brand new and still at a LFS, that you can buy if you want. It is going in my new family room, which is still under construction, and they are holding it for me until I am ready for it. I've deposited about 3/4 of the money. We could just meet there, and you could pay me my deposit and the rest to the LFS.

It is 210 gallons, 7x2x2, starfire front panel, all glass with eurobracing and holes in all the right places. I have plenty of time and could just have the LFS order another one from LeeMar.

PM me is you're interested.

pet supreme in san fernando has a sweet 180 half circle tank for sale.... stand canopy the who sha bang.... it si a really nice looking tank..

Bill,
Call me! Wife said she can handle the rest of the day by herself. I can head out of work at any time. Tell me what you need and I'm there. I've got the truck, buckets mentioned earlier as well as some lights, pumps, powerheads and heaters. Just no NSW and very little salt.

4' x 4' tub 200+g sitting empty if you want to set up a large temp system while you have a tank built. It's in San Bernardino so I'm not sure it's a good option for you.

I'd need it back in 45-60 days.

It's a long drive but I'm game.

Here it is... just holding crap right now.

Never been drilled. Between the ribs you can fit a 1-1/2" bulkhead, second opening up. I think if you use the bottom you'd have problems with the outer flange hitting the tub floor.

Maybe some people can set up some sort of relay to get the tub to Bill so he wont have to drive all the wat to San Berdu.
