ThE StArT Of My 120 BB sPs TaNk

Nice tank...I have a 6 foot tank built by glasscages...I know exactly what you mean by how heavy it is...I couldn't believe it. Nice set up so far...

I plan on using a dart for my closed loop and 4 way OM. I am looking for a return for my sump. I was wanting about 600-700 gallon after about a 5-6 ft head.

For what its worth....

Blueline pumps are Pan-Worlds. Champion Lighting just buys them and re-names them. Kinda like Honda does, (or used to anyway) the Sony stereos that come with the car.

Here is an update of how the tank is doing :) I will need to add some new stuff but with the price of everything going up but my paycheck it is hard. I have managed to save up a few hundred dollars and will be going shoping at the end of the month YEA. If anyone has frags to trade let me know as I have a few :) I will say that going BB was a good choice corals are very colorful and there is almost no algea on my rocks.

Hello everyone I will be using this thread to post my BLOG lets call it. I have started to dose amino acids and top of with kalk. I have added some new SPS and like the amount that i have for now. I hope to add some fish this weekend asw the tank is 5 months old now. I installed a new bulb 13k megachrome today and the color is outragous all the corals are glowing with color. I did loose one piece my blue hokei and I belive that was do to to much carbon added to the system to fast. The skimmer has slowed down some but I eed liquid life and it starts to produce a nice size foam again. the rocks are very clean and I really do not have coraline algea on the glass and on the rocks wonder why?
But I will say the tank is super clean and i don't even clean tha glass but once a week. here is a picture i snaped tonight will try and post a lot more soon,

Great colors - I'm going to dose Tropic Marin Pro K and A elements - I too will report on my progress with them

Please post what aminos you are using, etc.

The color on your tank looks perfect. I have been going back and forth trying to decide on 10k RL and 13k megachrome. I will see how your tank looks two months from now before making a purchase.

Looking good Michael. So clean, I love it.
Thank you so very much And yes it is very clean to clean. This is why I have read that the italians add amino acids to there tanks. So I have started to do the same thing to see if there is improvement in coral growth and color. I will say that there has to be something wrong becuase my coraline algea is really not that pink. In any case if there is a BB keeper out there that has been doing this for a wile tell me what you do.

Thanks for the kind words...............Be careful with the K and A I read that they cause diatom blooms. The amino acids are a better bet from what I have read but none the less I will keep you posted.

I was going to change my bulb from the 13k megachrome to the 10k ushio as well but a freind told me that why mess with perfection so i just got a new one. This bulb is awsome and I hope they never stop making it. You can't go wrong with it very well made and outlast most other bulbs. The only draw back is it cost Cash compared to others but in this hobby you get what you pay for.

I also started to dose AA, and also see improvement in my BB-

btw, I use TM A and K, and have no problems with diatoms/dino's.

Your tank is becoming very beautiful, can't wait to see those branches grow out :)
