Well deserved, MakoJ. Your tank is an inspiration to many of us! BTW, did you have any problem with your sand getting blown everywhere? I'd worry that a Hammerhead would be a lot of flow around sand.

I used two bicycle lifts to hold the light rack up so here are a few pictures:

Is the last pulley on the right a locking system?
And how did you attach the pulleys to the light rack?
Right now I'm trying to fiure out how to build one of these, if you have anymore pics of different angles could you post some for me
Thanks

Yeah could you PLEASE give me more pics of that. I am using the same on my upgrade. Would love to see how you did it better

Thanks everyone!!

thanks, and yes I did have a problem lol it just took a while of playing with the nozzle configuration until I got it where I wanted.
I still have little to no sand in the back of my tank but you can't see it from the front of the tank

Thanks for the pics.
Also Congrats on TOTM,

One more question. When you are raising and lowering, are you pulling on 2 strings?
And do you tie it to something when raised/lowered, or is the locking system safe enough to hold it all?
Thanks again

Thanks,
Yes I have pull 2 strings when raising or lowering. it is also tied off to the wall incase any of the latches fail but the way they are setup I don't think they could fail unless the rope broke.

Brian, someone brought this up a few pages ago and it raised my curiosity. I wonder what your K+ level is? The ZEOvit folks encourage a potassium level of around 380 and claim it is essential to good SPS coloration. I used to use I.O. salt but I switched to Tropic Marin Pro. This has a potassium that is too low and I've been adding a KZ supplement. The next time I come over I'll bring my K+ test kit so we can see where you are.

KZ's test is available through zeovit.usa and other etailers like Aquarium Specialty, and FaunaMarin also sells a K+ test. You can find that one at DarkLordCorals.

Yeah Brian (and sivert55), you can get the kit through any vendor that sells KZ products. I got mine from Aquarium Specialty. It ain't cheap, and it's even harder to interperet the result, but after a while it's doable. I've gotten pretty good at it so we'll be able to get an accurate number.

Hey MakoJ,

I was just re-reading your TOTM article on reefkeeping magazine. What type of cucumbers do you have? How big are they? How long have you had them? Do they move around at all?

thanks and love reading about your tank!
