Are you a SLASH member?

If you're not yet a member of SLASH or unfamiliar with the CDP and how it works we ask that you refrain from donating corals to the CDP tank this time around. We would prefer to get you signed up and explain the program a bit first. However, new member's joining at the swap will be allowed to receive up to five CDP corals out of the CDP tank once they understand and agree to the basic rules of the program. We'll have flyers and several folk available to assist you.

Be sure to use good judgment and Dip and Quarantine all corals you pick up on Sunday, no matter who or where they come from!

How to Donate

The doors to the swap open to the general public at 11:00am. However, those of you donating to the CDP tank will be allowed in as early as 10:00am to facilitate logging all your corals in and give them a chance to open up a bit before the big rush. However, once inside we ask that you refrain from visiting the vendors until the official start of the swap at 11AM. If you wish to check-in early please find the "Enforcer" at the entrance and he'll square you away.

The SLASH CDP display tank will have a segregated “floating section” setup for those who would prefer to keep their donations bagged up. It is not required but we provide this option so that your donation isn’t added to the “primordial soup” that is the general CDP tank. However, if you decide to go this route the bag must be clearly labeled with the name of the coral and a representative picture. If the bag does not have a photo the coral will be removed from its bag and placed into the general CDP tank. I usually use two ziplock bags and place a picture/label between the two. The bag and picture method also helps a potential recipient in choosing your coral as many corals don't adjust quickly enough to the CDP tank to open up during the limited time of the swap.

Any coral not claimed at the CDP tank by a SLASH member or reclaimed by the donor by approximately 30 minutes before the start of the general raffle will be donated to the raffle. Corals donated to the raffle will not provide the donor any CDP points. However, if the donor still needs to meet his/her 3-frag obligation for a particular CDP coral, donating frags of that coral to the raffle will count towards satisfying the obligation.

If the coral(s) you’re donating are already part of the program, just bring them in and we’ll handle the transactions. Make sure to check the Coral Quick List to verify they’re already in the program. However, if you're bringing a new CDP Coral, please create a new Thread on the CDP Forum compete with a picture of your mother colony, PRIOR to the swap. Without a picture, we will try to find a taker for your coral but no points will be awarded or deducted until the donor creates a thread complete with a picture in the CDP forum. Also, if you’re bringing in a coral that is already part of the program but wasn’t acquired from one of the previous CDP donors of that coral then you must post a picture of your mother colony in the appropriate thread before we can credit the transaction.

Also remember, per the CDP rules, all corals must be healthy and pest free at the time of transaction and all soft corals must be healed and attached to a hardened substrate (plug or rubble). Do not bring loose mushrooms, xenia, or leathers. They will not be accepted. Thanks

Take Care and Happy Fragging!

See you all soon!
