The T5 Q&a Thread - split

The first pic is just the 2 blue+.

Second pic is with a flash :/ I'll try to upload a daytime pic tomarrow without a flash.

My daytime would look alot bluer but I keep my purple+ up front contrast all the blue and highlight the warm colors in the tank.

If you want a really blue daytime look go with 3 blue+ and 1 coral+.

Is it 2x superblue make dusk/dawn 10-12 hours?
What's Actinic purpose for? What's different if I give up Actinic in my lighting
system.

So I bought a 65 gallon setup about a month ago from a reefer that said he used Grim Reefer's recommendations for the bulbs, but I'm simply not happy with the way that my tank looks under these lights. It seems very yellow to me, and I would much rather have more blue and get more fluorescence out of my corals. I had a halide on my old tank and everything seemed to glow under that, I'm hoping to get back to that sort of look. Right now the setup is:

#2 Wave Point-Tropical Wave

#5 UVL-Actinic White
#6 Giesemann-Aquablue+

Bold is on a separate switch (dusk/dawn), I would prefer to turn those into actinics. Oh, btw this is the Current 6x39w T5 fixture. I have lps and sps that seem to be doing well under these lights, but they look really bleh colorwise. Thanks for the help!

I never recoed that crap.

Yep

The actinic doesn't add much as long as you are using the blue lamps because the blues have enough UV output to make corals glow.

I figure out superblue can pop up color more than actinic.
If the lighting system without any actinic, it doesn't any bad effect to
coral, right?

Thanks

Hm, maybe it was on a different forum then. Thank you for the help though! Would it hurt to add a bluer light? The blue plus just look so white to me, and I really love that deep blue look that I've seen other tanks have. Sorry if that's a silly question, lighting has never been my strong suit. I really appreciate the help.
