Nevermind, I just realized by looking around that blue+ and blue plus aren't the same bulb. I feel really stupid now.

Hey sweeper,
Make sure you mark your old bulbs before you do anything else!(permanent marker on the end cap)
With the marked blue pluses you already have and the bulbs you just ordered you should be able to find a look you will like.
- Combo 1-
Blue plus
Coral plus
Fiji purple
Blue plus

-combo2-
Marked old Blue plus
Coral plus
Blue plus
Blue plus

-combo3-
Marked blue plus
Blue plus
Fiji purple
Blue plus

With the old blue plus bulbs in the back it shouldnt effect the overall color as much. These combos are from light blue to dark blue. Have fun!
 
Hi there, i've been thinking on a new setup for my 5xt5 lighting (24w), the actual combo is way too white:

Notice that i'm from europe, but i can get ati's bulbs here:

My actual setup:
front
- blau reef day (17000k)
- actinic
- blau 10.000k
- ati blue plus
- blau reef day (17000k)
rear

When all 5 bulbs are on (6 hours a day), the tank looks too white, when only actinics and blue plus are on (2 hours a day) whe can see nice colors (obviously).

I own softies, lps, 2 digitata frags and a bta, i would like to get a bluer combination to get more color. Can this affect to coral growth? What about purple bulbs? and the new ati's coral plus??

Can you tell me what is the difference between these bulbs combinations order in terms of look and how affect Dawn / Dusk:

Blue Plus

Also, i have the Sunpower at 7" height from the water surface inside a open Canopy, and seems OK but my only concern is that the light spread in the front area of the tank is a lot and i prefer to not have spread outside the tank at all. Thats why i am still using the Canopy.

What you recommend me to avoid this becuase if i put it higher i should have more spread outside. Please advise

BTW, my tank is 35g and my lamp can setup 4 mode so you can create dawn(2 bulbs on)/ day (all bulb on -5-)/ dusk (2 bulbs on) /moonlight (all bulbs off and 4 blue leds on).

This is the setup at this moment:

13:00 - 15:00 dawn
15:00 - 21:00 day
21:00 - 22:00 dawn
22:00 - 13:00 moonlight

Can anyone recomend which ati fixture i should get on a 120 gallon 48x24x24. I have an 8 bulb current nova now but slow gowth on sps and have to have them really high in tank for decent color. wondering maybe 8 bulb sunpower or do i need 10 bulb powermodule or something else. i dont really need dimmable but if recommended i will. thanks.

You really need to play with the different lamp positions to see what you like. I can tell you what they look like to me which does you absolutely no good because everyone perceives color differently. Having the Purple plus in the Dusk/dawn with a blue gives you a more sunset kinda look, purple.

Lower the fixture to decrease the spread.

So run 4 ATI Blue Plus and 1 Purple Plus if you like a blue look. You'll get plenty of growth and the tank will glow.

8 lamp sunpower should do fine.

Hey Grim can you help me out with some bulb recommendations?

I have the following bulbs as a starting point- not sure which locations would give the best look though

1 uvl super actinic
2 blue +
3 purple +
4 blue +
5 coral +
6 blue +
7 purple +
8 blue +

my favorite setup has always been radium with a blue + t5 or two
what do you recommend to get that look ?

Grim just got a new batch of T5s 10 blue+ 2 Coral+ i love the coral+ T5s i have 1 blue+ and 1 coral+ for dusk and dawn it blows all of our minds, what a brilliant color, everyone who sees it loves it (Dusk and dawn look) now I'm wondering if i should add 2 more coral+ to my daylights? i love the blue look but the color pop i get from the coral+ is awesome (pinks,reds,and my green purple rimed Monty WOW!) by adding 2 more coral+ will this whiten my tank?, will it enhance my colors even more? i really like the blue look thats why i would like to here from you what this will do to the aprons of my tank thanks and its good to see your still doing your thing

i doubt you are going to change the look much by changing positions, least not in a positive way.

You really have to play around and see what YOU like. If you think you need a little help with reds with the blue pluses running then add another coral plus
