i wanted to know what bulbs i needs for my coralife 48 inch t5 ho fixture they seem to be doing okay but i want them to flourish and thive its a 4 bulb fixture please i want a good mix between purple and white thank you
current tank 70 gallon bow front with a rusty angel, 2 ocellaris clownfish, a spotted hawkfish, a yellow tang, a diamond goby, a 6 line wrasse, and a royal gramma, and a long tentacle anemone and a frog spawn coral
Does a 10x24w powermodule is plenty of light for a 30x30x26 tank ?
Thanks
I didn't order my tank yet...iam hesitating between 30x30x24 or 30x30x26
Nice.. what bulbs are you using?Definitely. Here is a 30x30x24 with a 8x24watt ATI Unit.

I am currently using on my lps/sps tank
Front
ATI B+
ATI B+
ATI P+
GE 65K
ATI B+
ATI B+
I have a couple of questions. Does it make sense to use an ATI aquablue special in lieu of the GE? Also to get more pop out of the tank is it better to substitute an ATI True Actinic for one of the B+ bulbs? The front and back bulbs are my dusk / dawn set.
thanks
Deep Reef,
When you take the GE bulb out your initial reaction will be shock to your eyes and you may or may not like what you initially see.
TropTrea,
Do you happen to have any PAR readings with your light combo's? Just curious as I have a 6-lamp AquaticLife fixture with following combo:
Actinic
Purple +
Coral +
Blue +
Aqua-Blue (12K)
Actinic
All bulbs are ATI. I get a PAR reading of around 540 10" below the lights where all the SPS corals are.
I do not put a lot on PAR readings. But a friend took some par Reading about 18 months ago for me. At the substrate I was getting 220 PAR, very uniformly. at at 12" below the surface I was ranging between 400 and 450 par, and at 4" from the surface I was ranging from 760 to 999 par. Note 999 was the highest reading his meter gave.
I was and still am running 8 bulbs on a custom rebuilt fixture using 1 GE 6,500K, 2 Purple Plus, and 5 Blue Plus Bulbs. That is sitting 4" above the tank. Since then I added a custom DIY LED strip with an added 30 watts of LED's in a Royal Blue 454nm and near UV 420nm combination.
I liked the custom strip better on its first build with 50/50 split of 430nm and 454 nm LED's but the 430's did not last more than 3 months. The 410-420's I replaced them with are going strong for over a year now.
