CQL,

Any reason why your are not considering the 8x54W? I am debating between a 6x24W vs an 8x24W for my Elos 70 which has the same 22.5" front-to-back depth as your Elos 120. Grim told a 6-bulb will work fine and another reefer told me to go with an 8-bulb.

You obviously made the choice for a 6-bulb fixture. Can you elaborate on your decision?

I will don't any rocks touching glass, so i don't need that much light. Also, from my research I'm pretty sure with a 6 bulb ATI PM i can keep most things. Also, not a big fan of super bright tank.

Grim me again lol.... damn i keep changing things up. Well here is the thing I just had the opportunity to get an ICECAP 660 for free ;) and put it into my 6 bulb retro... so now 4 of the bulbs are overdriven but obviously you already knew that. My question is can this potentially be too much light for my system?

30X30X16 Lights sit about 4" above water.
IceCap660 4 bulbs
Advance 2 bulbs
IR for each bulb

Thanks.

I have 2 150 watt halides on my aga 120 and was wondering if i could be ok switching to 6 t5s? its mainly just lps and softies and if i did sps it would prob go in the upper 1/4 of the tank.

Unless your halides are high end 10K units even a Tek T5 would probably be an increase in PAR so you would be fine.

You are going to want to either use a lot of actinics or raise the lights up about 8" above the tank.

sounds good, thank you very much for the input....

UVL 454
UVL Actinic White
UVL super Actinic
UVL Actinic White
UVL 454
UVL 454

Hope that will work, I will raise the light tomorrow after work to 8" above.....

Thanks, again.

Can I run 4 60 inch Giesemann Actinic+ bulbs over my 150? I'm using a sunlight supply retrofit with work horse ballists and also have 10 460nm power brights.

That should do it with those particular lamps.

Yes but you cant grow any corals

:D

I just kill me

I would be careful where I placed high light critters with only 4 lamps. Keep them directly beneath the lamp array.

PAR isn't going to be an issue with your set up.

hey guys i am in the process of switching over from halides to t-5s. I have a ice capp 660 and 6 ice capp reflectors. Does it sound ok?

what bulb combo should i run for nice color and growth for sps?

I want to do a 36x36x20 cube and would have several options

Reef Inhabitants: Ricordeas, Mushrooms, Zoas, Palys, Soft corals and LPS corals. I will probably not house SPS corals on this system.

Color temperature desired 20k Radium looks with alot of coral flourescence.

2 ATI 4x24 PM ---- 192 watts $958 usd
2 ATI 6x24 PM ---- 288 watts $1,398 usd
1 ATI 10x24 PM ---- 240 watts $1,099 usd

I inclined to go with 2 fixtures for the flexibility of dawn and dusk features. Ive seen 36" cubes been lighted with a 24" HQI + T5 fixture so the ATI PM should work on my set up.
