Thanks!

What's your opinion (or anyone else who has experience) of the Giesemann Pure Actinic?

I notice you've not reommended it to anyone (that I've seen)

I just thonk think the T5 actinics make enough of a difference when everything is running to make it worth it. They are nice in dusk/dawn. I prefer the Actinics that have more blue light in them, UVL SUper Actinic, Sfigiloi and ATI.

Grim, Do you think that $200 is too much to ask for a 36" 6 bulb tek, it is the black finish, in good working order, with bulbs (8 months on them)?

Maybe a little high considering the economy. I couldn't get 450 for my stand, canopy and tank. 175 would probably be a little more realistic I think.

you could do a 6 lamp sunpower with 6 lamps and be OK. Probably less $ than 2 4 lamp teks.

OK- I can do that. Do they make brackets to put on the topof the tank to hold these fixtures? Also, can you make a bulb recommendation? I know what I used to use on a 48 inch, but I dont think they make all the same bulbs in the 36 inch (and I am sure they have come out with some better ones).

Thanks again!
Rick

Grim, you are definately in a class all your own when it comes to this, the spectrum is perfect. I altered it a bit just by the bulbs I had on hand, I replaced the GE 6500 Daylight with a UV Aquasun. Your sight showed them both a Daylight bulbs and the par was within about 5 I believe, how close are these to the same color? Thanks again.

You either have to hang the ATI or sit it right on the tank. You could make a rack to sit it on

The Aquasun has more red to it. Not a huge difference in the two honestly but the look you get with each is very different.

Grim, I have the 72" 14 bulb Aquactinics, in the center I have the geisman mid-day bulbs, nice and bright, but a bit yellow for me, recommendation for a bright cooler white daytime bulb in the center?

Hey Grim,

I was just wondering if the IceCap 54W 12000K Midwater T5s are basically the same (better or worse) as the 54W UVL Actinic White T5s?

Grim,

Have you seen the new UVL Indigo Sun bulb? What color is it and what did you think of it?

thanks!

Try the Giesemann Aquablue. It is bright white with a slight blue tint.

Seen pictures. From what I hear it's just their take on the Aquablue lamps, B O R I N G. I have had my tank down for a few months waiting to find a new house. Not sure when I will be back in business as far as being able to really look at colors. Probably October or so.

Can not decide

Can not decide

Hi Grimm,
I hope you can help me?
I just purchased a 125. It is 72" wide.
I would like to run all T5's.
I was looking at the Sunpower 60" 6x80w fixture and the Aquactinics Constellation 72".
I would like to keep both SPS and LPS, leaning more towards SPS.
I was hoping you could help me choose between the two?
Thank you very very much,
Scottio

The 6x80 will be less expensive to change lamps in and be higher intensity.

The constellation will give you slightly less intensity at the bottom but will do so end to end. Also has 3 channels of lighting.

If it were mine it would depend on the tank location. If the tank was right next to my sitting area in the living room I would go with the ATI due to the fans being so quite. If it was away from the sitting area I would take the constellations 3 channels of withing and what I think is a better look of the fixture itself.

Can not decide

Thank you so much Grim,
It will be in a sitting area, so I am going to go with the Sunpower 6 x80w.
I have one more question, if you do not mind?
Since I want to focus on SPS and some LPS, what bulbs would you go with?
Thank you again,
Scottio

I'm in the planning stages of a 150 gallon (5x2x2). I'm looking for a T5 fixture. I'll be keeping mostly SPS but with some LPS. Do you think a Sunpower 6x80 will be enough or should I just get the 8x80 power module? Thanks for any advise.
