I'm about to replace the lights in my 55 gal, SPS tank. I've been planning on this line-up:

Front
ATI Blue Plus
UVL Actinic White (or maybe 75/25)?
ATI Aqua Blue
ATI Blue Plus
Back

Will that give me good color with enough par for SPS about half way down?

bump for mike ........... i'm thinking the same thing because i had to change today from my VHO's for my 55 because of wire connection fire http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1861255 ... actually about to order the tek fixture soon as i know what bulbs to get so grim let me know

Looking for an opinion. If you had to choose from between the Wavepoint T5 fixture or the Current Sundial which would you pick?

Grimm I have a Nova Extreme 72" on a 210 Gallon.. My tank is 84"x24"x24".. My light fixture sets in middle of tank and is off the water about 5-6" .. Would u recommend getting an LED fixture for this size tank? if so which one should i be looking at cus there are many LED fixtures out there...

Only one I would think seriously about is the AquaIlluminations. There are several Asian imports floating around but they have no tech support in this country so it isn't worth the chance IMO.

I was wondering, if I were to mount some vhos on the perpendicular side of t5s? (Like underneath) How much of an output from the t5's would I lose?

I'm starting up a 60 gallon long tank (48 x 15 x 16) and planning on a mixed reef. I don't have the budget for an HQI T5 combo fixture, but I do have the budget for a T5HO 4 or 6 bulb setup. What would you recommend?

4 lamp Tek would do swell. 2 Blue Plus, one Aquablue and a Fiji purple

Should be fine. I'd do the 75/25

Hey Grim, need help on a bulb set-up. Getting a six bulb T-5 fixture. One row is gonna be LEDs (white) most likely (better par right? and for shimmer). I prefer my tank to be more on the blue side than the white side, but not too blue. NOT 20K. Course I know this isn't metal halide, but I knew you would know what I was talking about. One light set-up that will make my corals look great. Hope you can help. Thank you !

O btw I was running 2blue+ and two aquablue on the 4 bulb unit.

One of the rows will be LEDS so, only five T-5s will be present, so I definatly want the actinic white (for the reds, its like fiji purple right). I was wondering if I should ditch one blue plus, or the aquablue? Thanks!

It will be between 14 and 20K Should look good.

If you are using white LED's then ditch the Aquablue
