Dear Sir,

I've seen a couple different combos listed for what I am looking for, so I figured it best to seek your expert advice.

I have an 48" Aquaticlife 4x54 over a standard 75g. It currently has the stock bulbs in it and it is too white for my taste when all of the bulbs are on. I intend on doing a mixed reef, but that could change. What would be the best bulb combo for my setup?

Thanks in Advance

2 ATI Blue Plus, 1 Purple Plus and a KZ New Generation.

Hi Grim,

What setup would you suggest for a 72x36x12 SPS frag tank?
I was considering either two Sunpower fixtures or two Powermodules (if there is an advantage).
I wasn't sure which to go with...and what length, and how many bulbs. Maybe two 6 bulb fixtures?
Any help/advice you can provide is appreciated!

Thanks,
Ryan

2 6 lamp sunpowers would be my choice. It will allow you some lower light areas in the front of the tank.

55g Reef

55g Reef

Hi guys,

I have a 55g reef with just a 2-bulb fixture. I'm currently running an ATI Aquablue and ATI Blue Plus. I am happy with the color, I'm not a big fan of the super blue tanks. I am looking to upgrade to 4 bulbs as I'm sure my corals would do much better. What would be the best bulb combination? Would a purple or GE benefit my tank? Once again, I'm not looking for a 20K look, more like 12-14K. Thanks!

About 2" per lamp I believe.

So I know I should have at least 8 bulbs over a 30" wide tank but can I get away with a 6x80w tek with softies from 18-24" and nothing at the far edges of the tank? It's a peninsula so most of the rock is in the middle 18" of the tank.

So:

3" of nothing--3" of softies----Middle 18"-----3" of softies--3" of nothing

Yeah, just nothing but like shrooms or something on the sand.

Hello,
I'm Looking for bulb combination recommendation / advice for a 72" Aquactinics Constellation (7x39W * 2) . I am trying to avoid a pink cartoonish look and want something blue and crisp. I am very impressed with the look I have on my other tank with an Outer Orbit Pro w/ a 14K 150W Ushio & ATI True Actinic and Blue Plus bulbs. Is there a way to replicate this look on the Constellation?

I am considering the following but open to other recommendations:
timer:bulb
1:1 ATI True Actinic
2:2 ATI Blue Plus
3:3 UVL 75.25
3:4 ATI Aquablue Special
3:5 UVL 75.25
2:6 ATI Blue Plus
1:7 ATI True Actinic

Current tank info: 135g (72x18) spankin new mixed reef.

Thank you. but I don't think I can sell a 6500K bulb to the wife. I guess the halide does produce a significant amount of white light.... hmm. After thinking about it for a bit, I think it would work, but it would be a hard sell.

So let me ask you another question. What would you go with if it was your mixed reef tank, regardless of what I said before? what would the overall look be?

Use 2 purple plus in the slots where I listed the GE's and 1 GE where I have the purple plus.
