What would UVl or GE closest bulb to the ATI aquablue be I will be ordering the fixture with bulbs from bulk reef and they only carry these two brands so will start with there closest bulbs.
 
Grim, earlier this year you recommended ATI BLUE+'s to go with my Helios 20k 250W DE bulbs for a mostly white with a reasonable amount of blue look. I loved it. Today one of my Helios bulbs burnt out, and it looks like Helios bulbs may no longer be available due to quality issues? If this is the case, which MH bulbs would you recommend replacing them with to maintain a similar color overall? Thanks, as always!

I would probably do a 10 lamp powermodule or think about 2 6 lamp Sunpower over the tank if you want a lot of SPS. You need to keep them below the lamps and with only six that gives you about a 12 inch area of lighting.

Hmmmm....

What if I keep my 250 DE MH, 12K reeflux and T5's ? How should place the T5's ?
 
I'm getting a new Giesemann Infinity, it comes with MegaChrome 13K and Actinic Plus T5's. This is a 4 foot long, so the T5's are 54 watts.

From what I hear the MegaCrome 13K are super white, not blue at all, and need plenty of supplementation. I'm thinking of the following:

2x MegaChrome 13K (since they are already coming)
2x ATI Blue Plus T5 (great PAR, nice blue supplement)
1x Korallen Zucht Fiji Purple (brings out reds and stuff!?)
1x UVL Super Actinic (Give it some super actinic love, plus mike likes them)

Does this sound like a good combo? I'm thinking from front to back:

UVL Super Actinic
ATI Blue Plus
== Halides Here ==
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Blue Plus

I'm a T5 newbie, so any help would be great!

Whether it matches or not I would do the XM halide. Good PAR and Good price.

With a super white lamp I don't know if I would mess with the Fiji other than it will make dsk/dawn look better but I think it will look good overall. I might ditch the super actinic in favor of another Blue Plus if you want a blue look. If it comes with the Actinic Plus use those instead of buying blue plus for now, they are about the same thing.

Take a look at the EVC 20,000K. It's nearly identical to the Helios.
 
Grim, I'm going to do a fan modification for my TEK T5. Do you have any links handy? Painkiller1009 gave me a link to his mod but there was another good one around here that I saw but just can't find it.

Oh, and any suggestions would be nice.

It's a 48'' 6 lamp fixture

I bought two of this fan:

Grim, I am looking to update and upgrade my lighting.
I have a 54 gallon bow front.
Mostly soft, zoas, two little brain frags.
There are so many..almost too many options out there anymore...lol
Everyone raves about the t-5's while others are saying mix t-5's and halide.
I am looking for a size or brand recomandation...
The top of my tank would hold a 30" light.
I want something to make the corals and fish look so colorful, that it just pops.
Also the off chance of keeping a clam or some higher light requirement corals.
I am just too confused..lol...information overload!!

I wouldn't assume to know better how to do it than someone like the PK who has done it. You do want to have the air flow past the ballast then over the label ends of the lamps. Other than that I guess I need to find a deal on a use Tek and start cutting.

Nova has some 30" halide/T5 fixtures that would be good on a smaller bow like that. Take a look at those.
