I am making a 24" section of my sump an anemone and zoa tank. It will be 24" long 18" front to back and 14" deep. I am getting a 4 bulb fixture in trade from a fellow reefer. The tank will have a LTA and zoos and ricordia any suggestions on bulbs would be great thank you.

holy crap! Just got my TEK 6x80watt light installed on my 125 gallon. HOLY CRAP!!!!! This thing is bright!!! I put 2 120mm case fans in it, and affixed a controller for them to the top of the light, drilled 2 holes in each reflector over the label end, and cranked the fans up. Seems they keep the label end of the bulb MUCH cooler then the opposite end. I still have to put a splash guard on to finish out the active cooling affect. We will see how the corals like it in the next few days. Ive got a bunch of zoo's towards the very top of the tank and am curious as to how they will do. They were directly under a 150 watt halide before, so im hoping they will be OK. We will have to see. Thanks grim for the amazing bulb combo. Not too blue, but def, not white. Love it!!

I have the following bulb available and would like what combo & order would work best for a 14k look. My fixture is a 24" 4 bulb Tek over a 13" wide & 18" deep SPS tank

1 GE 6500 Daylight
1 Giesemann Aquablue +
2 Giesemann Blue +
1 KZ Fiji Purple

Hello Grim, My new tank is 36"w x 24"d x 22"t. I want to keep a mix, I know alot of the sps would have to be up high in the tank with T5's, but would they be strong enough as a whole over halide's. I dont want to hope the light is strong enough, I want to know it is...

Plenty strong enough as long as you use good equipment

2 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Aquablue and a UVL Actinic White.

here is a quick picture of the tank. Im going to try and get better ones, as I cant quite find a setting on the camera to keep it from washing out so bad!

With a 8x39 watt Powermodule about 4 inches above the tank Acros on the sand will be happy

Hi Grim,

Here's my T-5 set up back to front:

UVL Actinic White 12000K
UVL 75 25
UVL Actinic White 12000K
Giesemann Actinic+

I like the 75 25 combined with the Actinic+, but I didn't think the Actinic Whites turned out that great. Any suggestions?

Also, can I do a clam with this lighting in my 46g bow front?

Thanks,
FirstContact

Get 2 more Actinic Plus or ATI Blue Plus and run the 3 blue lamps with one Actinic White. It will look about like the Actinic Plus 75/25 but have a whole lot more PAR.

Hey grim, i am now very confused as to how low my tek light fixture should go on my ada tank. the tek fixture is a 4x24 watt fixture with 1uvl super actinic, 2 ati blue+, 1 kz fiji purple. My sand bed is 1inch while the entire tank is 14inches tall with the waterline an inch below the rim. i have sps in the middlearea with a crocea on the bottom. any idea?

Hello again,

Im finaly gettin an ATI powermodule ^^
Just not really sure if i should get the 8*80 or the 10*80.
My tank is 63'' long 27 wide and 24 high

Seems 8x is enough but 10x would be better, not really sure how much better it is as the price is a lot better for sure on the big one

Anyway, could u give me ur opinion on the 8x or 10x (i plan to get stonnies) and then give me advice on wich bulbs to get on that (ATI only as they are given with the fixture)

Thanks :)

I know that for 24 wide its ok with 8x but as i have like 4'' more im not sure it will still be ok, and having 2 more might be cool to play with the colors dont want to waste money but dont want to regret beeing stuck, just cant imagine the benefit or not of it and if its worth the cost

Seems i cant edit a 2nd time.

Just to complete about my tank i got reiforcements all around on top that does about 3-4 wide, so the seller telling me that will block a lot of the light if i get the 10x, that the glass is quite wide so its 27wide outside but 26 inside, and as i wont put anything close the glass he recommend the 8x telling me the 10x wont give a lot of +++ for the money.

Opinions welcome :)

Hi Grim..

Its time to change my bulbs again. Which do you think is better.

Hey Grim. I am setting up a 40 breeder 36x18x15 high. I have a 6 bulb Tek Light fixture.
I am planning to keep softies ~ LPS in the first 4 months, then add SPS after that time.

The fixture has two switches, the first bulb in the front and the last bulb in the back are on one switch. theother 4 bulbs are in the middle of them. i want to run bulb #1 and bulb #6 for dusk/dawn and the other 4 @ my regular light schedule. For my regular light schedulefor the 4 bulbs i just want a White look with atnic/blue accents with the most PAR I can get.

going for most growth with coloration. What do you suggest for bulbs #1 and 6 combo, and bulbs #2~5.

Thanks
