You don't by chance have any PAR readings from yours do you?
No, I wish I had access to a meter.

I guess you must have tried a very old unit. They do have active cooling. The old distributor is long gone. The new ppl provide excellent service from what I hear... And yeah, I can't believe Europeans would build something less than a Tek in terms of performance. It just does not happen..

This unit was out when the fans were still an optional add on. Are the new one's mounted at the end outside the endcaps or have they changed that?
As far as the European stuff being superior I do believe Sunlight Supply was the company that first provided individual reflectors in a fixture but I could be wrong. In terms of build quality I am not sure there is a great deal of difference, the quality of the materials is where the European stuff seems to be a little better, OK a WHOLE LOT BETTER, at least in the case of the Powermodule and the Stealth as far as the case goes, very solid materials.
grim, got my bulbs from reefgeek. 4 blue plus, 1 atinic white, 1 ge 6500. I have an aquatinics solar power. Unfortunetly bulb 2 and 5 are the low light option. My current set up, b+, aw, b+, ge, b+, b+. I was suprised that this wasnt bluer. I do like it.
Can you suggest a sequence where i hac\ve b+ in slot 2 and 5. Or shoiuls i just get a fiji purple, or a different bulb for slot 2
thank you
marty
I will be going with one and will be testing for par. I will also go with the ones with MH on them.
Of course, I will also go with your suggestion on bulb combo.
Yeah, the Blue Plus have a lot of PAR so assuming you are using good equipment and the tank isn't over 24" tall you should be fine.
Not sure how they went about cooling them. I doubt it matches up to the ATI but any fans have gotta help so I'd guess it's a step up from the standard Tek.
So is the intensity of a T5 lamp different relative to the "center" of the bulb? I just added a millie frag on the left side of my new setup and it bleached (ooppss) on the right side of the coral which is the side facing the center of my Sunpower and the top of the frag. The left side of the frag appears fine or at least better. The side of the frag facing down is also fine. The frag is appx 8" from the glass so still plenty of bulb to the left of it. I had thought that the intensity was relatively evenly distributed but perhaps not. Or perhaps its different for the Sunpower relative to the fans which are a little to the right?
Good Luck with it. Are you getting 2 different fixtures or just the halide/T5 combo?
I don't know if you guys will help if mh is involved? But I have a giesemann infinity with 2 150w de phoenix lamps. It also runs 4 54w t5s. I am trying to get a t5 combo that will compliment the mh color and maximize spectrum and par for the overall fixture. Which 4 t5s would you recommend?
3 ATI Blue Plus and either a UVL 75/25 or KZ Fiji Purple
Here is a great thread to answer your questions.
