Hey grim i have a 48inch long 55 gal and i was wondering what a good setup would be for a softy lps tank? thank you so much for your time and you are sabiving me a big head/heart ach
I retired from this thread a couple weeks ago. How the heck did I get sucked back in :fun4:
2 ATI blue Plus, 1 KZ Fiji Purple and a ATI Aquablue
I going to run a 6 bulb sunpower sorry about all the questions i am very thankful for you helping everyone.
On a 29" tall tank be careful about placing high light critters, upper half only.
Front
ATI Blue Plus
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Blue Plus
Giesemann Aquablue or ATI version
ATI Blue Plus
i am trying to get the most par and don't want a really blue tank would this make it look too much blue? what order should the bulbs be in?
Grim, thank you for all you do!
did I miss a lamp in there somewhere? was gonna use 6 lamps, you only listed 5. should lamp 6 be a fiji?
Grim, any suggestions for a 48x30x20 tank? It will be a SPS/LPS/Zoa tank, was looking at the new IceCap Reef Illumination fixture, the 48" 6 bulb T5 with 2 bulb LED setup.
I suppose it would work OK but I am not a fan of fixtures with no active cooling. Personally I'd get an 8 lamp Tek and add leds to it myself instead. The 8 lamps are going to cover the 30" a whole lot better and you could just add a couple of Ice Cap's LED tubes to the fixture on the front and back if you really want LED's.
Good idea, thanks. Here is what I have priced out for the fixtures/bulbs/hanging kit, you would advise going with the Tek Elite?
48" Tek 8 bulb $573
48" Tek Elite 8 bulb $766
48" ATI Sunpower 6 bulb $639

I ordered the TEK ELite but it is on backorder, so that got me looking at other ficutres that have legs. Do you think the new Icecaap Fixture would be better then the TEK ELite? It's about $200 more. http://premiumaquatics.com/store/me...=ICE-SHHL-900-D_B&Category_Code=Icecap-t5hood
That's the one I'm looking at
