You really want blue lamps. With what you have I'd throw 5 10K's and 2 actinics in.
I have a friend with an outer orbit 2 250watt DE halide with 4 t5s. He really like the 20k look and wants show quality color. He is either going with 20 ushio or 20k XM. What would your suggestion be to make a TOTM worthy color.
I have a 72 x 18 x 26 tank the water depth is about 24" but two inches of that is substrate. Will (6) 80w watts work for sps? Should i stagger the bulbs or just center them? What bulb combination should i use if i do stagger them?
I have a icecap 660 on the vho's, so i would get another one for the retro. Who makes the best 60" reflectors?
Grim,
Currently running 4 x 48" T5's driven by icecap 660 over my 90 standard.
Looking to add two more in front and back position driven by a 430 for dawn to dusk.
Which bulbs would you recommend for that specific purpose. You should also know that they wil run the entire daytime light cycle along with my current four.
As it is now:
Front
Blue+
Blue+
UVL actinic white
Blue+
Back
Perhaps a KZ fiji in front and another Blue+ for the back?
Also, it's time for a bulb change anyway, so if you see changes that could be made let me know.
Thanks for the help
i have a 40 breeder, 6 bulb fixture..i plan on keeping a little of everything. i want color to pop at the same time i want to go with a set up than can aid with the growth. if i could get a good configuration from front to back that would be nice.
Grim,
I have serached and searched and searched. What the heck is an LET reflector????
I did that combo, for my 36x4, and love it, i may change the pure actinic for a actinic plus later, but now i have a 10g 24x2 t5 setup on my work tank wtih the stock (no clue how old bulbs) Growing mostly zoa and some lps, i was thinking get the actinic plus and an aqua blue, how you feel about that?
Thanks again man
The tank will be much more purple with a Fiji Purple in place of a Blue Plus. You will also lose some pop in certain colors.
If you want a whiter look change a Blue Plus for an ATI Aquablue.
