The Grim Reefer
Ready for some NOBALL!!!
Sorry if I don't respond as much as I used to but the ridiculously slow server speeds recently makes it too time consuming.

bump for Grim's advice
Tek 8x54w over a 75g half sps half lps. Best part without too white. Right now running 2 ati ab special 2 fiji purple and 4 ati blue plus.
Tiny bit on the blue side for my taste
Thanks for your contribution here grim and everyone else.
I recently set-up a 75G and picked up a 48" 4 bulb TEK unit
I currently have (All giesemann)
1 Midday
1 Pure actinic
2 Blue plus
While I love how much the corals are glowing, it just seems too dark in the tank. Any suggestion for a re combination of bulbs? Willing to switch to ATI or whatever company/ies you think are best. Might also be worth mentioning that it is a mixed reef.
Again, thanks to all you lot.
hey i have a question that is somewhat unique because Im only gonna have a two bulb setup. fostersandsmith has the uvl bulbs for pretty cheap right now. they have:
Super actinic
aquasun 10000k
actinic white 12000k
Im not worried about PAR at all cause its gonna be a FOWLR. but i want my fish to look good! i used to have a phoenix 14K MH and i loved that color. so which of these combos is more like a 14k color?
1. super actinic and aquasun 10k
or
2. super actinic and actinic white 12k
thanks.
The specs all seem good. Price is about ballpark what I'd expect. I can't see a reason not to try it if you are thinking about it.Has anyone used this lighting combo or have something similar, i'm thinking about using it to light a 30x20x20 custom tank.

heres the link to the company page: http://coralvue.com/t5-fixtures/
Seems to be a pretty good deal, and it says in the description:
Reflector Material: 95% Germany Alanod Mirror Finish Alumin
um. Worlds finest mirror finish metal manufacturer.
Reflector Design: Individual parabollic spider bent reflectors under each T5 lamp.
Any comments?
can someone help me i would liek a dusk and dawn effect, what would i have to do?
Honestly I don't know that you are going to be happy with any combination of those lamps. Aquasun and a Blue lamps of some kind would look good for a fish only as long as you don't mind a warmer looking light. Any of the Blues will work, Current 460, Giesemann Actinic Plus Etc.
Drop the Actinic for an Aquablue or another Actinic Plus or use the ATI Blue Plus. 3 Blue lamps and a midday are going to be 20K or so but have plenty of PAR.
