wow, this thread has alot of good info! I havent been able to find many that directly reflect what i need though.

Grim you seem to be the man with the master plan.
Here goes.....

I am starting a 93Gal cube, 30x30x24high I plan on softies, LPS, anenome, maybe the odd SPS.

I was thinking about 2 4 bulb fixtures would be great. I havent seen any 8 bulb fixtures. And I'm guessing a 6 bulb would not be enough. There aren't alot of 30 inch fixtures out there.
Do you think this is a good plan?
any help would be greatly appriciated.

ATI has a 8 lamp Powermodule I believe. 2 4 lamp 24" fixtures would be fine.

So lately, I've been thinking of upgrading my 48" 7x54 Constellation to a Sfliligoi Stealth 60" 12x80w but have read on another Thread here that...per Grim, the Stealth Mini's were built rather poorly and weren't worth the cost!!! I'm afraid the full size Stealth versions will be the same.

Does anyone know if there's been any improvements on the full size Stealth's? or if they are built exactly as the Mini's? Are they not worth the cost?

Thx

Haven't seen the big one's so I can't say. Also haven't seen any credible tests on they as of yet. All I know is they are very expensive.

Hey Grim I got a customer with (2) of the Hagen Glo ballast each 2x54watts over a 40 long, He has already purchased a UVL Super Actinic and a GE6500k, what other 2 bulbs does he need ? You will have to excuse that super actinic he was doing it piece by piece with little cash flow. He wants good color and growth thanks man

I need help with a T5 setup for a 50 gallon rubbermaid. 52" long 31" wide.

An ATI Sunpower 8 bulb it what i had in mind. Well they do not make that fixture!!

A powermodule is too much (light and $$). no sps, mainly LPS

retrofitting is not an option. also do not want to go with 2 fixtures

what is my best option, basically what's the closest i can get to an 8 bulb sunpower?

i know tek elite makes an 8 bulb 48", but i doubt that would compare to the sunpower?

thank you

Tek is the closest you'll get.

Quick question for your guys.
What would you consider the PAR number range for low, medium and high light corals?

Thanks for any input
Michael

I would use 2 ATI Blue Plus , 1 ATI Aquablue and 1 ATI Purple Plus. You need all the PAR help you can get. 4 lamps, even in a good fixture like Tek and ATI isn't much over a 75.

Grim,

I am only swapping the T5 fixture for the PCs. The two Blue Life SPS 175w 14k MH will be running in the back and at about 8 inches above the water. I will have the T5s in the front of the tank in this order; Blue Plus, Aqua blue, Purple Plus, Blue Plus.

Any changes?

i switching the pcs on my nano tank and i got a 24 " t5 fixture ,2 bulb
what would be a good bulb for my lil tank , i have mainly zoas and i want to get a couple of frags of sps in the future

Stonies get hit with up to 2,000 PAR or so in nature. I think most people assume you need a minimum of 400 to keep them in a tank. Sanjay Joshi recomends sandbed PAR of 150 or so for a SPS tank so that pretty much coincides with the 400 range in the area of the tank you'd want the SPS growing. Not sure anyone has really documented specific PAR levels for different critters.
