Getting ready to move all my stuff into their new home in a standard 75g. I have a 6x54w Nova Extreme Pro fixture (currently have 6x18w NEP over my NanoCube where everything is coming from.). What would be the best lighting for an SPS dominant tank with some clams and LPS as well.

What bulb config would you all recommend? I would like to have at least 1 purple bulb in there as well.

Do 4 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Aquablue and 1 ATI Purple Plus. SPS should be safe on the rocks.
in which order would you place the tubes I'll be having the unit length ways across the tank and my rock is place along the bag wall

Thanks For such a quick response appreciated

Blue Plus front and back. Other than that a blue plus and purple plus in the dusk/dawn slots looks neat

Purple Plus in #2 with a GE daylight in 4. Rest Blue Plus. Dunno about a clam under that fixture though. Not a lot of intensity at the sandbed.

Setting up a 75g standard

Would a 4x54 ati sunpower be enough light for this tank to keep mostly everything with sps being a little higher up.

Would love to get the 6 bulb just don't have the extra $ for it right now.

Thanks Grim

Your only real limitation would be out on the sandbed so clams would be out. SPS at any level below the lamps.

I keep rock dwelling clams so they can be up high. I currently have a maxima and a crocea on rocks in the sand in my Nanocube under the NEP 6x18 and they seem to be ok. Is there a reason taht it should be different with the 75g and the 6x54? will the 2" of height make that much of a difference in PAR?

Yep. On the rocks should be OK but I'd be worried about the sand.

Hey guys, i've tried to find an answer scanning these pages but haven't really found it. Im sure this has been asked before. What would be the best bulb combo for me? I want to achieve a 20k look with a 6x54 ATI sunpower. But i still want great PAR. I have a 90 gallon
sps dominant tank. 48l x 18w x 24h I don't think my tank can look too blue for me so the bluer the better. Just looking for a happy medium between color and par. I have sps on the bottom of my tank. Thanks!

4 ATI Blue Plus and 2 ATI Purple Plus

Grab an extra Blue Plus to play with. The Blue Plus is the highest PAR bulb available so you don't need to worry about PAR when using them.

Sorry to ask again hate being repetitive, 75 g standard

Would a 6x54 tek with a fan installed be able to keep everything with possibly a clam on the sandbed?

Really want to go ati 6x54 but have non related reef stuff I need :(. Or would I be better off with a 4x54 ati sp over the tek ? Figured I would get better bulb combs with the 6 and the 2 extra would help make up for lost par over the ati. Thanks again grim

What is the concensus on the KZ Superblue? I really like the look of it, like a Blue Plus but more white...

Dunno about concensus but I ain't paying their premium for lamps that are no better than ATI from what I can see. I could understand using the new generation in some situations but thats about it.

Not sure on the clam but I THINK it would be OK.
