This lighting system is for a LFS but we dont no who ASM is? Your not talking about ASM Skimmers.
Are these Quantum lights? will they have t-6 reflectors also?

Quatun was only selling the NO version of the T6, these are VHO. They have clip on reflectors and all in one units that have the reflectors, endcaps and ballasts built in.

quick question.
how would you guys arrange these on a 5 lamp aquaactinics
2 blue plus
1 super actinic
1 actinic white
1 10k

thanx in advance

Hey Grim-
I'll be needing to change the lamps in my Nova Extreme. What bulbs would you recommend for an 8x54w setup in a mixed reef?

Thanks and Happy New Year!!!

Thanks Grim, I am still kicking around the idea of using a canopy. What is the recommened distance off the water to run t5s?

Using a canopy would let me fan cool the tubes without having to clip a fan onto tek fixture...which would look bad, ha.

Mix things up. I would do 2 blue plus, 2 UVL Super Actinic, 2 Aquablues, 1 UVL Aquasun and a GE daylight

I try to keep the lamps at least 4" above the water to avoid salt spray.

Thanks, not sure if the standard canopys (the petco) brand have that much clearance. I'll have to check it out, thanks.

Same setup as mine. You will only need 5 T5's. I have 4 zeovit T5's with the red spectrum and 1 URI Actinic.

Thanks for the suggestion, Grim. Just making sure but you really think 6 blues and 2 whites will do the trick?

The Aquablues and Blue Plus both put out a lot of PAR.

5ft bulb selection?

5ft bulb selection?

I am looking at purchasing giesman bulbs. Are their actinic + the same as the blus+. I am going with 6 bulbs and was thinking of 3 aquablue, 2 actinic +, and one midday. Also any opinions of njreefsupply?
thanks
Jeff

Reefgeek.com tends to have the best prices and I wouldn't think of ordering 5 ft lamps from anyone else. They ship them in PVC pipe, or at east used to.

Get ATI lamps if possible but the D&D actinic plus is about the same as blue plus. I would use 1 GE daylight and 2 aquablues.

Hey Grim. Hope you had a good holiday season.
My 180 has been up and running for a couple of months now and I'm a bit disappointed in the T5 setup. The colors are blah..washed out looking. The 90G looked better.

What I'm running is

Front
1 ATI B+
2 ATI AB
3 DD Pure Actinic 03
4 DD Day 6000K
5 ATI AB
6 ATI B+
Rear

60" bulbs centered on IC 660 ballasts, and IC SLR reflectors. The 3 blue bulbs are on one ballast, the 3 white bulbs on the other. I'd rather not rewire them. I swapped position of 1 and 3 and it didn't really make a difference. It seems like the overdriven lamps are brighter than what I had on the 90G. Maybe just too much light. I have a spare ATI B+ and may try it in place of one of the AB. The DD Pure Actinic is...eh..there...nothing special. I thought about swapping it for a VHO Actinic or a pair of 36" UVL SA's. Thoughts? I'm going to try swapping out the DD PA for an B+ tonight and see how it looks tomorrow.

Any suggestions to get more color/pop out of the setup?
