Would a combo of 2X110 VHO's and 2X54 T5's be good lighting for a 90 gal reef?

4x54wattT5s and 2x110w VHOs would be a better idea. Keep in mind that those two 110w VHOs are barely the output of the 54wattT5s.

I think that settles it, have to go with the 4X54 t5 setup. Would my current 4x55 pcs compliment the t5's, add a actinic supplement?

Which model? Aquamedic is a good brand, but some of their units dont have individual reflectors.

As far as I know the aquamedic stuff doesn't use reflectors.

I guess I'll cross them off the list, their Sunbeam T5 2X54 has a reflector, but trying to go with a straight 4x54 fixture. Don't want to go the retro route if I don't have too. What's best but relatively inexpenisve?

Not yet, the guy who has one works out of the country a lot so its hard to arrange.
Grim, been reading this thread for weeks and it has helped but I'm still a little confused. I just ordered Aquactinics TX5 HO 36" fixture with
1 Aqua sun
1 Super Actinic
1 Pure Actinic
2 Aqua Blue +
I'm wondering about bulb placement since sites 1,3,5 are on one switch and 2,4 are on the other. Right now planning to have 2 and 4 come on first and go off last. Your suggestions appreciated. Hope I haven't messed up. Also have retro T5 with 2 bulbs that I'm currently using to supplement PC that I might still be able to fit on the tank with the new fixture. Would 7 39w T5's be too much on this 65? It's 24"deep. I now have mostly softies and 1 crocea clam.
